Haven't played it in a while, but it was my experience that getting shot resulted in holes appearing in general places, without really affecting the aircraft. At least not on the level that Cliffs of Dover's damage model does.

Could be worse, but it could be a lot better too.

you can see the crack on the wing when aircraft damaged.
if you keep applying stress on the wing, it's easily tearing.
I was fascinated at the moment.

The best is when you damage the wing of an enemy aircraft and he flies around for a bit until the stress that gets exerted by the G's he's pulling crack the wing clean off. You watch him plummet to the earth without expending any more ammo.

BoS damage model = not as good as Cliffs of Dover, but better than anything else.

It's a good damage model. What brings the game down isn't its core mechanics, to be sure.

Yes, it will work on 10. Unfortunately, for me, 1946 was unplayable on 10 so I have rolled back to 7 for now.
