Question about the game before I buy…

When you buy the base game without dlcs do you get aircraft and the base game or do you have to buy more dlcs to get aircraft?

Whatever module you buy you get the aircraft for that module to fly. If you want additional aircraft you will have to either buy them individually if they are collector aircraft or buy the modules they are attached to for the regular aircraft access them.

If you are thinking of buying, however, I would wait until the next Steam sale before pulling the trigger as it makes it much easier on the wallet. I believe the Winter Sale is set to start on December 21st.

Battle of Stalingrad (the base game) comes with eight flyable aircraft.

On Steam, the Battles of Moscow, Kuban, Normandy and Bodenplatte DLCs are sold as expansion packs. Each adds an additional 8 more flyable aircraft. There are also individual Collector Planes to satisfy more niche interests.

It's worth it. I bought every (WWII) fighter and am having a blast. Sometimes you wanna switch it up so nice to have the oddballs.

Regardless of il2GB's future, the base game 80% off now is a great price. Any other DLC if you are interested in as well, wait for 75%/85% off in winter sale.
