Because it was russians first jet fighter? and plus if germans have jets russia has to have a counterpart...

Balancing for gameplay reasons can be done by War Thunder... I don't think Il-2 should move away from relative realism. And besides, Il-2 is focusing on WWII and there were no Mig 9's until 1946. I don't think jets will add anything to the overall experience.

I just prefer jets over normal planes... I mean there are not many good games with jets anymore...

DCS?

If you prefer jets then DCS is probably a better choice that Il-2 since it does this very well. You can fly MiG-15 vs F-86 with full clickable cockpits or why not try your luck in the MiG-21bis. And there is a 262 in the works for DCS Normandy 1944.

Give it a try. There is a free Su-25 (not fully clickable - more like the Il-2 planes) that comes with the sim when you download it.

Why is that?

Must be a nightmare trying to fly prop planes with kb/m and doing well. I think taxiing is difficult at times with stick, throttle, rudder pedals and headtracking...
