Engine randomly cuts midflight
I was just flying along on a server having a jolly time when i noticed an unfamiliar noise, Upon further inspection my Ju87 prop stopped spinning. I tried gliding back but put myself into a deadly flatspin. My engine had cut for some reason. Is this because of overheat or what because i was at 80% throttle and then cut it to 60% then 55%.

I'm no expert but there are a number of possible reasons.

1st. Did you have enough fuel?
2nd. Did you have the water and oil rads fully open?
3rd. Although you might have had 80% throttle what was your rpm setting?

If I'm in the Ju-87 level flight I fly with all rads open and 70/75% Throttle and 70/75% RPM, or until continuous is displayed. When taking off I use 80% RPM and I'm very careful with the throttle movement as you can cook the engine during takeoff, so I usually take with about 40% fuel and throttle back once airbourne. If you try these few tips until you get use to the Ju-87, hopefully you will have more fun!? Failing that try youtube as there are some good training videos about the IL2 BOS JU87. This link might help.

If you click onto the map during the game on the right hand side there is a specification table for the aircraft you are in that should help with engine settings and glide speeds etc

Hopefully some more expereinced JU87 guys will have further help/advice!

Regards

My bet is that you exceeded the engine limitations:

1 minute max 2600 rpm @ 1.42 ata
30 mins max 2400 rpm @ 1.25 ata
No restriction 2250 rpm @ 1.15 ata
Cruise 2100 rpm @ 1.10 ata
Above 6000m reduce by 0.1 ata

Min coolant temp: 60 degrees Celsius
Max coolant temp: 110-100 degrees Celsius (depending on altitude)

Min oil temp: 30 degrees Celsius
Max oil temp: 105 degrees Celsius

Note that the Ju 87 has manual control of RPM and water + oil coolers so you need to have this mapped unless you fly with assists.

My "pro tip" is to forget about the percentage shown on screen and learn the actual numbers for temps, manifold pressure (in the German planes ATA) and RPM. Then always monitor the gauges. Also be careful not to move the throttle too quickly when flying the Stuka.
