Do I need trackir to play this
I really want to play this game and i don't have a problem putting $50 into a joystick but on top of that i'm too short on cash to buy trackir, so I am wondering if i need it.

It's not needed but it is a nice thing to have.

Also, google Delanclip,it's way cheaper than TrackIR.

Headtracking isn't a requirement but HIGHLY recommended. It makes situational awareness so much easier.

Note that a Delanclip won't work on it's own. It is a LED "reflector" just like the TrackIR ProClip and it needs either a homebuilt sensor solution together with OpenTrack or similar or a TrackIR sensor. There are complete solutions with PS3 cameras avaialable in their store though. If my ProClip should break down I would replace it with a Delanclip.

Hi El HAdji, nice to see you also here, I've got a delan clip with PS3 eye and opentrack ( works nicely in DCS and BOS) . not yet supported here, is it ? do you guys manage to use it in AF2 ? not working so far for me.

Yes. I tried OpenTrack, FreeTrack and FaceTrackand nothing works on BoS although all of them are working in so many other games (DCS, Il2 CoD, ETS2, RoF, ArmA3, ArmA 2, EliteDangerous)on x32 and x64. There was a work around but developers "fixed it". They even restrict Track IR 4 (you need to enable it in settings file.

Try FaceTrackNoIR, it uses a webcam and can emulate Track IR but it can also emulate mouse and joystick movents which BOS may pick up although I haven't tested this,

not really, i use my mouse in my left hand with buttons on my joystick too, i do the same for war thunder sb and its fine. It just takes a while to get used to it

Some people will say that TrackIR is a game-changer and on that I can agree. I always find panning around the cockpit with keys or a joystick hat switch awkward.Mouse control helps but that ties up your hand. In a combat environment it's a big plus, maybe not so much in FSX etc.
