Buy which Collector Planes on Steam sale?

Hello,

I'm very new to IL-2. Are there any Collector Plane DLCs worth buying now that there's a Steam sale going on? Some DLCs have a massive discount at the moment.

It depends on your tastes and interests. Most of them are fighters so if youre not into dogfighting they wont be worth it for the most part. The planes go on sale relatively often so there is no rush if you want to try the game and the base planes out first. I have enjoyed the FW 190 A3 and D9, P38J, HS 129 and Spitfire V out of the collector planes so far.

If you have just the standard version of Battle of Stalingrad, these aircraft can also be used in the BoS career mode:
- Fw 190 A-3 (included in BoS Deluxe version)
- La-5 Series 8 (included in BoS Deluxe version)
- P-40E-1
- MC.202 Series VIII
- Hurricane Mk.II
- Hs 129 B-2
- Polikarpov U-2VS
- Ju 52/3m

I play fighters the most and I think they give the best overall value, so my recommendation is the first five on the list and generally in the order presented. I also enjoy the Spitfire Mk.Vb, the Yak-1b and Yak-9, and the Bf 109 G-6 but those are used in the Battle of Kuban career timeline.
