Tank Crew Tutorial?

Hello everyone! I am new to this game and just bought the base game and the tank crew DLC. I am not especially interested in flying but want to get an excellent tank simulator. But I haven't found much useful tutorial information either in the game or on the Internet regarding operating tanks. Could anybody direct me to the relevant resources that may be available? Thanks! I really appreciate your help! Also, I noticed that there's content related to tanks in both the campaign and mission modes. Which one do you regard to be most newbie-friendly?

How do you navigate? I went on the Finnish MP server and couldn't figure out where I was or what direction I was going...

How do you estimate range?

How do you repair tank?

So many questions.

I read somewhere that repairs are performed by shutting down the engine and opening the driver's hatch. Apparently tracks and minor engine damage like leaks can be repaired but maybe not major engine damage. I have not confirmed any of this. According to Stormbirds[stormbirds.blog] a track repair takes 10 minutes.

There are compasses in the vehicles usually in the driver and/or commander positions so I suppose that is the only way to navigate if icons and markers are disabled.

Also in MP how are you guys voice communicating ? Is there built in voip?

The game needs a tutorial so bad. The controls are so whacky with alt and control everything.

Confirm Shadow's comments on repairs, shut down and unbutton to repair (basically simulating crew leaving vehicle to perform repairs).

There are no in game voice comms. Discord is the voip of choice.

Navigation... Finnish is hard mode, because you have no mini-map showing your location. Before you spawn, you will need to plot out your course on the briefing map, then use compass and landmarks to navigate. You can pull up a mini-map, but there is no icon to show your location.

In short.. 'I spawn here, there is a road North of my spawn point that goes NW until I take the 2nd road to the right which will intersect a river, I'll turn left at the river and follow it to my target'. That is how you have to handle Finnish. Same process when flying. If you get lost, well you need to identify landmarks and match them up in the mini-map to figure out where you are and how to get to where you want to go.

There is an easier, tank focused MP server called Advance and Secure that allows you to see where you are on the mini-map while in mission which sort of alleviates that factor of getting lost.
