P.S. A last question. Where and how I can download Steam VR? And which kind of Steam VR?
Happy landings.
Thank you very much. It's great...
Happy landings.
So my question is how do I load my non Steam version on Steam VR please. I've already downloaded Steam VR and wish to play via Link from my PC. Do I need Vorpx?
I understand there is an unofficial mod to make IL-2 1946 compatible with Oculus Quest. There is some information about that here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/15320/discussions/0/2970650651607048417/ I imagine you can mod either the Steam or CD version of 1946, but it would use Oculus software not Steam VR.
There is also the IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover game which also was released on CD/DVD as a sequel to IL-2 1946. It does not have official VR support. I do not know if there is an unofficial VR mod.
My original CD is IL-2 Sturmovik 1946.
I'll have a look at your link once her in doors has finished playing solitaire on our PC. Lesson here, never interrupt a woman's game of solitaire.
Once again thanks for the info and responding so quickly.

The Vorpx forum is for me, somewhat limited on providing a solution. Especially a solution that's easy to understand for an IT dinosaur like myself.
I would be eternally grateful (honest) if someone could shed a light into this mysterious dark room of technology.
Many thanks, B9
Consider picking up Battle of Stalingrad when there is a Steam sale, it will be around 75% off the current price and the DLCs will also be discounted. You should be able to get at least BoS Deluxe and and at least one "Battle of..." DLC for what you paid for Vorpx, and the VR experience will be a lot better.
Id recommend staying away from vorpx unless in dire need. YMMV!
VR is *very* demanding of any PC though
I too suggest asking in their correct forum as many here wont even know of the earlier games in the series.
@shadowgrave can I go a bit offtopic and ask why you prefer your Quest2 over the reverb? Ive been toying for saving up for one but only for this sim. My quest 2 is ok. I know you dont/cant speak for the rest of the world but id love to know your views as you have both. (if you have a moment)
I actually do prefer the Reverb in Half Life Alex (despite Reverb's inferior controllers). Other sims like P3Dv5 I'd probably use my Reverb more often if it didn't require swapping out headsets. IL-2 is my go-to VR sim these days, so Rift-S dominates because it is always plugged in and ready to go.
