I'll definately put his on on hold then...
Thanks!
Tank Crew was not initially designed to have infantry. It was conceived as a vehicle simulator, like our flight-simulator is. We are fascinated with airplanes and vehicles, it's what we do. So think of it as a flight-sim with an armor component and not a shooter with an armor component. Our armor has fully realized interiors and battle stations that you operate in first person unlike other popular tank games where you battle other tanks. However, we have listened to players who want infantry, and we are working on them for TC, but we don't know when they will exactly be ready or their final abilities on the battlefield. We could also fail to make infantry that works at all. It's new territory for us. But remember this is not a shooter like Call of Duty and you will never be able to play as an infantry soldier. It is a tank sim. We will of course, reveal more when we have something to report on them.
Tank Crew has a lot of cool stuff in it and we have some really beautiful tanks and the combat is brutal and unforgiving. Multiplayer in TC is really the test of superior teamwork in a PC game. It's a lot of fun to battle other tanks and experience this type of combat in our engine. We think armor fans will really like it and I plan to continue to make more missions and campaigns for it over time. There are already many missions built by others during the Early Access phase plus some really cool skins are available.
Making TC was a lot of hard work for all involved, but I'm glad we took on the challenge. Plus is forced us to develop some features and technology that also improved our airplanes. I hope we get to make more TC titles in the future.

the models are superb and it reminds me of tank sims from the 90s when tank sims were good.
the current lack of infantry doesnt phase me, there's plenty of ground units to keep one occupied.

I currently play Steel beasts Pro for my modern AFV/Tank/Armored Warfare fix and it really has it all including detailed infantry AI.
I am interested in this game/sim as I really enjoy WWII tanks.
Hopefully, Infantry can be added, which I feel is an important dynamic; more for a Tank game/Sim than a flight sim!
i was impressed with the simple tanks shipped initially which were more akin to a simcade product but these are really detailed vehicles from the visuals to the engagement with the crew to the damage model.
plus, the new light AA vehicles will really cement the combat tween ground lovers and air fanciers.
BoS, for me, is always keeping one step ahead of other sims.
as im often saying TC and FC etc are well worth a look.
Are there plans to develop more ground vehicles and have expansions/dlcs like the aircraft have? I feel this is a very important addition to the game and will push more people to buy IL2 if it had a full blown ground element much like it does with air right now.
Could even go as far as to have points where the tank can be repaired, refueled, and restocked with ammo or crew. Could also have repair/ammo restock vehicles as well that can be driven around to help restock or repair vehicles that are out in the field. Would add a whole new depth to the tank combat experience if there were pseudo-logistics such as that.
Could also have field repair elements where the tank crew can do limited repairs such as tracks or even minor/semi-major engine repair to keep the tank moving just enough to return to base or keep fighting.
There are more ground vehicles being added. Beyond those AA vehicles I personally have no Idea.
Are they in on initial release?
there's loads of ground vehicles
I'll reserve final judgement for TC until release, but the way it sits right now it doesn't offer a good enough single-player or co-op experience to be worth the asking cost, IMO. I'm sure its great strictly multiplayer but it falls very short in the SP department -AI in it might as well be non-existent.
I haven't bothered picking up FC since I don't play in VR and it lacks the one plane I fly most often in RoF.
They are very standard with their pricing model.
exception being Flying circuise. Seriously. That needs a career mode or else its just a rippoff.
Agreed!
For $70, no infantry and no SP experience, I'm going to wait...
