Stupid how they don't show the swastika on the tailfin
I know why not....

..but in this day and age. I mean, jeez.

The Luftwaffe was the air arm of the Third Reich.

Not to have the swashy on the fin of the tailplane is ridiculous.

Its illegal in Russia. Is that not where the development happens?
Couldent you go and edit textures of the planes?
Custom skins are possible

I always fly the swashy if I can when playing the fascists only because it feels more authentic and more personal. I lost family in WW2, the convoys to Murmansk so I am no fan of the Nazi’s and my step father was Jewish. So, if a bad boy is going to be a bad boy then they need to wear the badge so that shooting them down is much more satisfying.

My video... I saw no rules forbidding the sporting the filthy Hakenkreuz on the tailfin by the way

You can install custom skins for the aircraft that will / can include swastika's.
I think the main problem is that part of the game studio operates in Russia, where the swastika is outlawed.
you know the swastika isnt just a german symbol right?

Finland still uses swastika in its airforce to this day. Same with iron crosses with swastika among some military ranks. Go figure.
The Finnish Air Force switched to the roundel in 1945. If you find an F/A-18 with the Von Rosen cross, feel free to show me.

Honestly who cares other than the swastika the planes are pretty damned detailed and it plays awesome
This^^^

If a Soviet / US aircraft had the center of its star cut out, I'd be pretty damn annoyed. Same with the swaztika. There's just something missing, a game about details having to jettison one because of legality.
I'll just keep using custom skins. But there's no template for the Duck yet and it triggers me.

Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is.
A. You can download skins with swastikas

Has this not been all covered before? No need to reopen a dead thread.

Natscape above me shows the way forward.

Pretty sure it's because of the Germans today. They're very anti free speech in Germany today (kind of like they were 70-80 years ago) and they ban the use of the swastika in anything just like they also ban anything they consider to be "hate speech". Germany also likes to force other people outside of their countries to abide by their anti-free speech laws and that's why if if you live in the US you don't get to see a realistic swastika on an airplane in a video game.

The use of the Swastika is prohibited only when used for political reasons inside Germany condoning the National-socialist regime. Considering the history, that is hardly surprising esp. since the Allies essentially forced the new West-German state to adopte that law.

For any usage that falls into the domain of media, education and art, the swastika can be used freely. As such, you'll see the Swastika quite often in Germany, turn on the TV any given day and you'll see it in some documentary. Germany does NOT force any other country or person outside Germany to abide by their laws. Of course, if a product is to be sold in Germany, it has to abide by the national laws. That is completely normal.

As video games don't (yet) fall into these categories officially, game developers stay on the save side, since there has yet to be a definite ruling whether videogames fall inside the category of 'media'. (Some games like Wolfenstein have in the past had some issues back when video games where not yet mainstream).

Trust Biz to actually explain things. Thank you. This is one of those comments that keeps turning up and dispite the entierly rational reasons for it, people love ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it. 'inacurate' tail marking is not game-breaking, nor does it obscure anything historical about the period, the war, or what happened. They are still called Nazis in-game. The swastika, while meaningful, is also superficial and often our understanding of it, and the relevance of these kinds of laws is equally superficial. There is more to history than markings.
