Achtung Spitfire ! ??
I have Stalingrad on Steam. I got the Achtung Spitfire! DLC from IL2 site, because Steam don't sell it.
Well I have the download, but don't know where to put the files. I've looked in the game folder but can't see anywhere obvious to put it/them. [ It won't load independently].
And I do have the Kuban map and Mk VB spit'.
I don't want to just chuck it in somewhere and mess stuff up. can't find any instructions for it.

It goes in your Il2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Campaigns folder, as a complete folder. The skins go in your data\graphics\ skins \SpitfireMkVb folder.

Is your Steam account linked to your il2sturmovik account? When they are linked everything you buy at the website appears in the Steam version of Battle of Stalingrad.

You say you have Kuban map and Spit5 meaning you own Battle of Kuban too?
If soo and your accounts are linked than Achtung Spitfire should be unlocked under scripted campaigns menu, no neccessary action needed!
Just start the game and play!

I'm sure I was asked to link accounts, then it went through the process.
maybe I did something wrong, but not sure how to check it.

Well I've been on both sites and cant find the link. Am I supposed to uninstall Stalingrad, and reinstall it, to get the 'Link Accounts & login' page to open up ?..

Just launch stalingrad VIA the .exe file in the game files and then after you do that open it up via steam and you will have the login and link accounts option.

That don't seem to work.
I'm getting ''downloading game client''.
I've tried it before, it's 22.95 GB download. after which nothing happens.

That's for free user made campaigns. This one is sold through the store and the files are integrated into the encrypted game files. you only have to purchase it and it will unlock in game, there is no separate download.

That's what I thought also, Spitfire was the first paid campaign I bought, but I was thinking outside the box. It is odd that he's had so many issues....

I have Stalingrad, Moscow, Kuban, Rhine and Flying Circus. Plus about half of the collector planes.
All from Steam.
I went to the IL2 site for the Spitfire DLC. I then ended up with the DLC sitting in my downloads folder.
This was back in march so can't really remember how or if I sync'd the accounts. [probably not it seems]. I think it was less than a fiver so it's not worth the bother.
I will end up uninstalling it and will never go back to the IL2 site again.
