Moving Career Save Files to New Computer
Hi Everyone,

I bought a new computer and attempted to move my pilot career saves by copying and pasting the two files found in the " C:\Program Files (x86)\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Career " folder. The pilots show up now, but when I try to load their career the game loads forever and then freezes.

There are a few iron man campaigns I'm really enjoying and would really like to move over if anyone can help. Are there other files I need to move or anything?

Thanks.

For me the two folders mentioned above were sufficient:
\data\swf
\data\Career

I copied the entire swf folder, not sure if the usersave would have been enough.

Thanks for the reply Aergistal! I'll try this out when I get the time and update to see if it works.

I finally got the time to give this a shot and unfortunately it did not work. Just going to start up new careers I think. Thanks for trying to help.

Hello. Does anyone know how to backup the campaign file now? Sady there is no steam cloud support for this game. I would like to move the save file manually to google drive so it will sync automatically.

It would make sense to copy \data\swf\il2\usersave\ folder but from what has been posted here, this seems not to be the case. Any ideas?

Dammit. All careers are not there after computer factory reset. I didn't expect a steam game would lack steam cloud save feature....

Same here, does not work. All campaign mission logs are gone, even though I copied all folders nearly over. Will restart and fly again.

The only folder I ever back up is the Careers folder. Works fine for me both after reinstalls and on new PCs.

Many, many games don't support the Steam cloud feature. You should never rely on it.
(I noticed they've actually added a cloud sync status icon now, so you can easily see which games are using it and which aren't.)
