Do we get to also drive tanks?
Hello all, im considering buying the game during the sale (out of my budget otherwise). And it caught my eye to see on the steam page, that some pictures show views from inside a T34 tank.

Can you actually drive/use a tank in IL-2 Sturmovik BoS? If so, how does that work, is there a "tank" campaign? of some missions? and is it on the base game or you need to get some DLC?

I dont actually NEED the game to let me drive tanks, i am after a WW2 flight sim. But it sure sounds damn fun to have.

Stalingrad has 2 basic tanks, quick battle and multiplayer only. Maybe there are some user made missions. (T34 and panzer 3). But it was just after hours project of some devs.

or wait for steam release after early access.

More tanks, more detailed map made for ground combat and not flying, so better looking buildings etc. Bad thing = no career for this expansion. It will only have 2 single player campaigns where you play as diffrent tank crew every mission in diffrent tanks. Germand and Soviet campaign. It feels more like multiplayer expansion but we will see if there will be some replayability in these campaigns or play once and done. Then it's overpriced for SP fans.

Thanks, i dont really have a lot of interest in the tanks. I have more interest in the planes :)
But it seems like a nice "bonus" to have in the game.

While we are talking about Single/multi player, how is the single player campaign (i mean for airplanes) in the game?
Honestly, i have exactly zero interest in multiplayer, i only want the game for the single player part of it.

You can buy or download user made scripted campaigns or play career mode but it's a bit crappy due to bad AI. It will probably take a while for AI to get better but you can play scripted campaigns, they are cool.
