2005 wants their joke back.
I'll try that next time, hopefully the AI gets better.
There is a lot of complains about AI so i guess they will do something about it, lots of people said they wont buy any new expansion if things wont get better. It's worst if you play as ground attacker, especially in hs129. Most of your flight dies, enemy spam sky, if you have cover they just target one enemy and forget about you.. there is no such thing as fighter sweep to make ground attackers life easier. You just fly into always protected by enemy sky...
Just play scripted campaigns, i think it's the best and only choice for single player fans so far.
I also second the idea of playing scripted campaigns instead as they "hide" the problems.
Fighter carreer works somewhat better as long as you dont need to count on your teamates, then they just run in circle and smack the ground...
I was on the merge of buying flying circus and tank crew (i own all the rest) but i will hold off until the devs take a serious step about adding an actual AI to this game.
After completing hundreds of successful missions, I've found that a few can be unrelentingly cruel.
For example, getting blasted out of the sky with sniper-like precision by astute flak assassins while having traveled deep into enemy territory for 45 minutes, well, this has left an indelible mark on how I play, especially Escort Bomber missions. When I begin seeing puffs of smoke close by I hold my breath, begin swerving with even more enthusuasm, and then change altitude, all with the hope I'll not run out of oxygen before its over. I don't stay in formation. I tried and died way too many times doing that. If you're playing on Ironman this can be incredibly stressful.
I hope that you'll not let this bad experience alter your possible enjoyment of other missions, and the Career mode, in general. :-)
If I buy Battle of Kuban will the AI in career act the same?
Unfortunately, yes. :-)
Damn it.
Thanks
You're welcome
Works best with some distance between you and enemy, but the idea is you pull them up into a stall right over the airfield if you timed it right. The down side to this is it can expose you to HEAVY friendly fire. I've been hit by flak a few times, nothing immediately devastating but it did injure the pilot pretty good.
If it doesn't get shot down chances are it still received some good hits to affect the airframe, performance etc.
Most visible diffence is when you fight enemy fighters, they actually try to avoid fire, they roll, fly up and down doing all kinds of things. In box you fly in circles, that's entire brain of AI in BoX, fly in circles forever and never return to base. In CloD fights are intense but short, enemy and your allies will run away at some point, no one will chase you back to back across a channel.
Edit: unless you meant expansion for stalingrad. Because it's still the same game. Kuban, Moscow etc. you just get more content but everything else like AI, damage model etc. is shared for all BoX titles.
