How to download website content to steam install

So there is this in the most recent news post:

"NOTE: We no longer swap website keys for STEAM keys, so if you wish to own Flying Circus or any other IL-2 product solely on STEAM you will need to wait for the STEAM release at a later date. We do not know at this time if there will be launch discounts for FC, TC or BOBP on STEAM nor do we know the exact release date for these products on STEAM. However, if you buy one of these products on our website today you are welcome to link your STEAM account (assuming you own IL-2 on STEAM) with your IL-2 website account and play with this new content through your IL-2 STEAM install. For more information on our STEAM Linkage process please read our guide found"

It clearly says you can "play with this new content through your IL-2 STEAM install"

How do I go about doing that?

I own IL-2 on steam.
I purchased the tank dlc on their website.

I want to know how to use that content in its early access form on my steam install, as they describe being possible.

Start IL-2 on Steam...... you will then have to login to the IL-2 account you have...... and will be asked if you want to link the 2 accounts.

Accounts are already linked.
They were linked before I even purchased the content on their website.

My only 2 options were login with steam, and "login with linked account"

I clicked that. it logged me in. it brought it to the menu.
No popup.
No questions.
No download.
No hint of any new content.
Nothing.


Would you mind answering my question already of how to download it?
Really simple question.
If you don't have an answer, as you appear not to, please stop wasting my time.

Yeah....... nowhere does it say you can download content from IL-2 website to Steam. It says: "link your STEAM account (assuming you own IL-2 on STEAM) with your IL-2 website account and play with this new content through your IL-2 STEAM install."

What a pathetic response. It clearly says in what you just quoted that you can PLAY content PURCHASED ON THEIR WEBSITE through the STREAM INSTALL. That means downloading it asshat.

the game plus any "expansions/dlc" is all on your install the keys simply unlock content.

if you have BoS on Steam anything bought from either Steam or their site will appear in the Steam version.

I don't know if the same applies for BoM etc I'm afraid.

I bought FC from their site and it Insta appeared in my Steam version.

Yeah it did.

On another note. Holy hell these controls will take some getting used for tanks.

Edit: I don't think there's a key binding option for repair.
lol. Kinda need to repair blown off tracks on a tank.

we're *guessing* that the controls *may* change slightly in the future.

Repair is something thats been asked for by the community and hasnt arrived so far, so use the disabled tank as a gun platform or restart the mission :)
