IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad

IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad

Question: Playability?
If I'm able to play War Thunder with decent graphics with 40+ FPS will I be able to play IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad? They look somewhat similar.

Your Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 has 192 Shader units even if Battle of Stalingrad looks similar to War Thunder in terms of Gameplay with mouse control. Battle of Stalingrad in terms of Graphic and Physics miles ahead compared to War Thunder. Realistic Graphic and Physics need Performance. For example a old first Generation AMD APU with onboard Graphiccard HD6550D has 512 Shader units manage 10 - 30 FPS @ Full HD with Balanced Settings.

With a 750 GTX TI you get 50+ FPS. Should be not a huge investment have seen this card for $10 on ebay

Jokes aside I'm not sure. Graphically I think IL-2 is superior to War Thunder with it's newest visibility tech and 4k textures. You should be able to run it well, what are your PC specs?
Dont forget BoX is a sim.

An advamced one.

Whilst it has some visual similarities to WT they are veru different beasts under the hood.

BoX will likely tax any system more.

I wouldn't expect anything better than either medium or low in IL-2. One thing I do have to give War Thunder is it's ability to run on lower end comps. Also, pressing backspace in game will display your FPS in the upper right hand corner should you need to track it.

The PC I'm playing on is on the lower end of the spectrum for PC's but in your opinion do you believe it's worth purchasing the game with decent gameplay?

I Have a similar set up with an i5 processor but have a Geoforce GTX 750 Ti graphics card and it runs well on Win 10. I've only had the the game since December and as mentioned above, it's not a "jump in & Play" type, it's more a grow and learn with it type...........
You will need a Joystick to get the most out of it and a lot of patience, if that suits you I recommend you buy it, good luck.

It purely depends on what you like.

It *is* a sim ratger than a game although one can change settings to dumb it down.

Its not a game that will instantly grab you, rather is has nuances and subtleties that grow on you.

It's not perfect but i adore it.

I hated WT btw.

YMMV!

Yes, absolutely. Beware , however , should you judge other flight sim titles off the premise of War Thunder then you are in for a world of hurt. War Thunder is an arcade like game and because of that I’ve moved away from it. If you’re looking for a true WW2 aerial combat simulation then IL-2 is the place to be.
