Game Takes A Long Time To Load
On the Main loading Screen, It takes like a minute and 20 seconds to load. Is this normal? It was like the second load up of the day.

depends on your pc

The software needs optimization.

I love how everyone thinks "optimization" is a cure-all for software that has to front-load a crapton of data. It's like if you wave the optimization wand enough you can get a resource intensive game to run on a toaster.

I have a pretty good PC, the games on a 7200 RPM hard drive i believe, but im just wondering what your guy's load times are?
kalnaren Oct 23, 2019 @ 4:47pm
On initial launch, probably about 30-40 seconds. A bit faster on subsequent loads.

Missions vary significantly. Simple quick missions load in about 20 seconds. Some of the ones I've generated from PWCG take a couple of minutes.

Huh, maybe somethigs wrong my my computer, whats your game stored on?

7200 RPM Western Digital Black.

Running a Ryzen 5 2600x w/32 gigs of RAM.

I find that PWCG mission take about 2 minutes to load on an ssd while others take less than 30 seconds. Everything is loaded before you start the mission which means all of the loading is done before you start so you don't have constant loading problems during the mission. this is a common thing in other flight simulators as well

Is the HDD plugged into SATA3/SATA6? Some motherboards don't have SATA6 channels across the board, and only a couple of ports are actually the faster SATA ports.

Disk speed issue : Forget mecanical drives; Get a SSD, it will solve your loading times/stutters and you will not regret it.

I have it on an HDD.. loading times are a couple of minutes with PWCG missions and under a minute otherwise... not terrible, truth be told.

Back in the ol commodore 64 days when we loaded software from magnetic tapes, the load times were 10 to 15 mins lol
