Game Key to Run the Game on Steam

Good day
My brother gave me a key for IL-2 BoS for Christmas.
Now I have noticed that I the key only here "il2sturmovik.com/store/license-keys/"
And not in Steam.
Is there a possibility to activate this key and thus the game on Steam, maybe even exchange a Steamkey?

Nun habe ich bemerkt das ich den Key nur hier "il2sturmovik.com/store/license-keys/"
eigeben kann und nicht in Steam.
Gibt es eine möglichkeit diesen Key und damit das Spiel auf Steam zu aktivieren, vieleicht sogar gegen einen Steamkey einzutauschen?

BoS nutzt aber ohnehin keine Steam-Features. Keine Achievements, keine Workshop-Unterstützung also von daher...

You can only exchange if you bought your key in early access. Once the module is officially released then you cant (costs them money to purchase you a steam key).

And why would you want that? since il2 doesn't support any Steam-exclusive features you might as well integrate the exe into Steam with absolutely the same result.

Now I have here a useless key.

The IL2 Site had a much better deal so I went with that... Now im finding out that I cant transfer my Key to Steam? Is this correct?

Correct, you don't need a 3rd-party-drm-program and there's no greedy corporation taking 30% of the devs well-deserved money just because they managed to raise a braindead generation of gamers who create an artificial difference between a steam and non-Steam version of a game in their heads.

I bought the game after 22 Oct 2014 from the IL2 store and was able to transfer it to a steam key, so I'm not sure what the issue is? Just go to your IL2 store account and follow the process for transferring the game to Steam!
