Easy to Fly, Impossible to Taxi...
Flying is super easy but I have spent two hours trying to perform taxiing. I am looking for a simple and short video tutorial which explains what keys to press to move a plane forward, turn left or right and break. So far, I only managed to spin round and hit structures, destroying many planes. I have a joystick. Thank you.

what plane?
planes difference in ground behaviour.
Some have lockable tailwheeels, some needs light rudder to one side, some you put the stick backwards to roll straight forward..

Should I unlock or lock this tailwheel when taxiiing ?
Is there an auto-take off option ?

If you don want to turn, lock the Wheel and push back your stick. Afaik there is no auto-take off.
You could look for the videos of Requiem. There might be some advices for take off with every plane

to auto take off just put on autopilot

There is no auto take off. This is no Aces High here.

And how to turn then ? Because the plane is not even aligned to the pist.

Yeah taxiing is too hard!

always lock the tailwheel. You can steer with rudder or brakes, or rudder and brakes together.
Atleast i do so with bf109.

To turn unlock the wheel, set the stick to neutral. Press the break in the direction you want to turn (wheelbrake with german aircrafts, differential whith most russians) and the throttle up a little.
But I recommend searching for some videsotutorials on that. This is easier to watch than to explain by text.

Make sure you're not using too much power, it's real easy to get going too fast. Use a lot of brake tapping, make sure you can control both wheel brakes separately, and with the brake tapping use a lot of strong rudder inputs in whatever direction you need to stay straight or keep from spinning around. In addition to not going too fast remember to not go too fast.

Please Put direct link to this video tutorial because it does not exist. I tried again several times, unlocking back wheel (worst decision ever), locking it, breaks (B key) dont work, and using back tail is not precise enough (Z and X key) to no success. I would need a control on the front wheels of the plane but they don't respond). I tried with flap fully open, pushing joystick forward while accelerating, nothing works.
Frustration is at its maximum. I paid 70 euros for this game, and I can not take off a f***** plane.

Try this: Power up the engine slightly, unlock the rear wheel, start turning using brakes, then lock it again and then counter in the opposite direction with your rudder to avoid spinning. Don't release the brakes while you counter.
It's been my technique ever since I started playing this game.
The best moment to lock and counter is usually slightly before the mid point of the turn. How much you need to counter is something you can only understand yourself in the situation you are in. Sometimes you need full rudder, sometimes just a bit.

I also suggest to start practicing on easy airplanes to taxi, such as the Stuka or the I-16.

Thanks, i have been trying this. I have managed to take off twice, but with difficulties. It is somehow difficult to know the position of your rudder without looking at it directly. There is nothing inside the cockpit indicating you the position. Breaks only work if you gain speed.

Well this is flight sim so it should be tricky sice those planes didn't have steering wheel, A-20 will have steereing whell.
German planes have separate brakes so assign them correctly, VVS planes goes on single break for both wheels.
For overall planes you need to apply correct propeller pitch and use combination of throttle, rudder and brakes.
It takes time but once you learn it...like riding a bike!
In RL taxing and landing are hardest stages of flight too.

For VVS planes: prop pich full (some may dissagree but that's how i do it) and combination of brakes with rudder input, more throttle with more pitch results with more airflow over the rudder giving more maneuverability, i don't use tailwheel lock!
So to adjust direction on spot brakes+rudder and hight throttle and pitch, once direction achieved maintain speed and direction with lower throttle input, brakes and rudder.

Axis planes are easier to taxi since brakes on main landing gear are separate so they are main factor and pitch is auto.
So you use throttle+ RH or LH brake in combination with rudder.
If you want to turn left: left brake+rudder and certain amount of power (throttle).
Good luck!

You can bind the differential brake in one key and it'll work in both axis and soviet planes. I haven't bothered using two different keys for brakes since the start of 2016.
In German planes, the game will know in which direction you want to turn by using the input from the rudder. Not very realistic, I know, but at least handy if you don't have dedicated flight sims pedals.
