How do you get an iron pickaxe?

I can craft a stone pick and a titanium pick, but that's it. I hit an iron rock with a stone pick and noticed a iron pickaxe and industrial pickaxe in the tooltip that came up telling me I can't use stone to mine it.

I know industrial cannot be crafted, but is there an iron pick in the game? Since you get rocks and iron from regular rocks, I was just thinking about how useless iron ore rocks are since you would probably want to keep your titanium pickaxe for titanium ore rocks...

Are there recipes to unlock or is that another item that can't be crafted?

Not pickaxe. Just use a regular iron wood axe

I also thought it a bit weird, there is no iron pickaxe, but an iron wood axe only which can be used for both trees and ore.

I don't bother mining iron ore, it's more useful to mine just stones if you want both as I get heaps of iron ore and stones from that. So if your titanium pick breaks and you don't have any titanium you can just use an iron axe for mining anything.

Oh thanks guys, I didn't realize it was axe instead of pickaxe...

That's a strange decision :P But I guess it's 1 less thing to craft, so that's fine by me. I Explored a lot of the island and am through most of the little booklet thing, so I'll probably build a house, kill some zombies, and be satisfied with the $3.
