Possible crash fixes. Try these!
I've had multiple crashes when I first tried playing.
The first one was an EOS connection error.

1.) I have the Epic Games Launcher on my pc for different games, but I do not have it linked with HLL. I ended up having to open the launcher and update it. That got me passed the EOS error on game start up.

2.) Then the game would totally crash after "clicking to continue". Several folks on here are suggesting that you insert a startup script to fix the issue:
-dx12 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -malloc=system
Go to Steam Library, right click HLLV>Properties>General and in the text box below insert the script. Close box.
That seems to help some, but not me. Instead, I changed the -dx12 to -dx11, and then went into graphics settings and set the game to High Performance.
Hit the Windows key and type in Graphics Settings. Click on Graphics settings and go to whatever drive the game is loaded onto. For me it is D. Once located, click on the .exe for HLLV. Example: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hell Let Loose - Vietnam.
Once it is on the Settings page, click on Options and select High Performance to let the GPU to most of the work.
I was then able to get into the game and at least do the tutorial. I have yet to go farther as of yet. Any other issues and fixes I can find I will post here. I hope this helps.

After tweaking my graphics settings so my tater pc doesn't cry, I found a server that was joinable and proceeded to whip some GI booty with my machine gun with no other issues. Heard a LITTLE of the audio bug that was reported but for the most part it was clear and plenty useable.
clear the directx shader cache
Hi PipingHam,

Thank you for sharing your workarounds, we are suggesting these to players already to see if this helps.

Another player also mentioned the following helped them with crashes:
  1. The screen will say press any button.... do not press any button here and wait.
  2. Without pressing any buttons screen will switch and prompt users about seizer warnings.. still do not press anything here.
  3. The screen will return to 'Press any button to continue'. This is when to click whatever to get into the main menu.
We hope this helps!
