how to make a password protected server?

I have a server that I just want me and my friend on, but people keep joining in. I know theres a way to make it password protected because I see people with them. When I make one it simply just launches the game, I have no option to make it password protected or not

When in-game you want to go to Options and then Host Options.
From there you can put a password on your server or even just make it friends only.

First you start the game and select 'Host Game', then select character and world. The game starts with default options first and will be public for all. You need to go to 'Options' right after launch and check 'Host Settings'. You will be able to configure it to your liking there.
