MK X (Not responding) on launch

since the new update today the game will launch (Not responding) no real error just shows the MK X loading box then opens instantly (Not responding) and i need to ctrl + alt+ delete to kill the process.

i have been on steam for almost 12 years now so yes i have done all the basic stuff for troubleshooting.

ONLY CHANGE I MADE WAS REMOVED THE 2-GTX780 Ti's AND ADDED 3 GTX980's

Same for me. Game was running fine before, now after downloading the patch it won't even start. Just get the MKX logo as it starts to load, then a black screen. Have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get out of it.

Pretty irritating in general, but even more so because it was already working fine.

On the laptop here I have:

Intel i7-4700HQ @ 2.40Hz
8GB RAM
GTX 870m

Need a fix ASAP

Yes yes, very frustrating because the game was working fine before. Now after waiting and downloading this freaking 15 GB "patch", everything just collapse.

i left the black screen open for 33 minutes while i heated up the dab nail and took 2 dab hits came back and it was still black this is more then that.

thank you so much...i need my HT for the work i do this is not a appropriate fix for my self i would have to restart my pc every time i felt like opening MK X to disable it hope they are aware and address it =( Thanks again cmdr faggenheimer

I know this post is old but i get same problem bought game installed it and black screen

You can play, u just need a little bit patience. Just kill the process if it doesnt run. Then try again. Also try to start the game over the configs, right under the start button, u can also start the game from there. For me its like this: I start the game normally, wont start, i start the game over configs, wont start, i start again normal, works. Its like doing it 3 times and i think this start over configs helps a little bit. I tryd it with 4 times normally and it didnt work, so maybe this starting over configs is the the key, not sure.

I encountered the same issue. Logo is displayed, then the game opens in a window, but the window stays black. After a a while I can hear the sound of demo-combat.

After trying several suggested ways to fix the issue without success, I thought that lowering the screen resolution in the options.ini might help, although I'm running 1920x1080, and it did help.

EDIT: Pressing 'ALT+ENTER' while seeing the black window switches the game to fullscreen. That works as well. How did I not think of this earlier...
Instead I took the sceenic route below:

1. Locate 'options.ini' in 'C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\MK10'
2. Open it with a text editor
3. Find the lines
ResolutionX = 1920
ResolutionY = 1080
4. Change to a lower setting
ResolutionX = 1600
ResolutionY = 900
5. Save 'options.ini' and launch the game

Do NOT use Auto-Config in game, because it will reset to 1920x1080 window mode. You can manually choose to run the game in 1920x1080 in fullscreen of course.

Hope this might help some people.
