Is Kung Jin too strong in MKX?
This might be the easiest character I have ever picked up during the last
7 years of playing fighting games.

Took me 25 minutes into the lab to pull this off.
Ok, I want to be honest here. This character feels
rly strong, maybe too strong. KJ can basically kill you with 2 combos ( each combo using only 1 bar )
If you add a jump in 2 as starter = 47% + 47%
= 94% damage for 2 meter bars
The thing is KJ has 3 starter bnbs which either hit low, overhead
or mid into a low and if you guess those 50/50 wrong you will receive all the damage and all you need to do afterwards as KJ is 111 into BO swing for some chip damage to kill the other player.
Not only is the damage output of KJ huge, but his range + his strong wakeup game makes it rly difficult to play vs this character.
KJ has the second best range on his pokes in MKX but
compared to Takeda KJ is actually damn fast.
I went with Takeda into the lab for the first 2 weeks damn
in order to play on a decent skill lvl and with KJ only 25 minutes
of training mode.
KJ is probably top 5 right now in MKX among with
Subzero, Erron Black, Quan Chi and Cassie.
On TYM forums & other MK forums KJ is the character
most ppl talk / complain about whether he needs to be
nerfed or not. Some ppl feel like he is fine and say that players
just need to figure out the match up in order to keep up
while others think he is insanely overpowered.

I am not rly sure, but his damage output might be too much.
Other than that it might be way too early to tell whether KJ
is too good or not - and just give MKX a few months more time
from now in order to see which characters will truly end up being top tier.

On the side note - this Jac Briggs playstyle is rly
hard to defend online. I do know that I don't have to block
the MG ( 0 chip damage ), but when she EX MG I usually end up
getting hit by her rocket launcher while approaching to
move forward.

It's more about simplicity than strength. He starts easy but there are far stronger but more complicated characters above him. I'm personally having fun stomping on people who jumped on him because of an easy combos and didn't even bother to learn other aspects of play. :D

Hes definetly OP. If Justin wong says hes OP then hes OP

I find Sub-Zero is a pretty good counter pick for Kung Jin... ice clones really stop him in his tracks.

I came here to say EXACTLY this.

I think it's a bit too early to say if something is OP or not. Give it some more time, and if the FGC (you are a part of this community too) still haven't found ways of countering x, y or z after a few months, then start shouting for nerfs/balance changes. Preemptive nerfing of characters before the game is even a month old is a bit rash. It's like every fighting game, people look at something, think it's OP, months to a year later, people discover something new, which puts it to shame and makes them laugh at how they used to think that previous stuff was overpowered.

Kung jin is too safe -> OP

kung jin is INCREDIBLY easy to pick up, and very safe for what he does. He's a pub stomper for sure but we'll know if it's too much in a ~month or so. There have been kombatants in the past that seemed OP on release (especially from this game studio) that ended up being really bad when people got the hang of things.

Right now stick man kung jin and quan chi (because of his vortex) are things to keep an eye on.
Nah he isn't overpowered, he's just an easy auto-pilot character.

He needs slight damage nerfs.

Just seen some of the most recent MKX tournaments.
It seems like Jac Briggs, Scorp, Liu, Quan Chi and Subzero are all bad match ups for KJ.
Especially characters with a fast projectile to keep KJ out seem to give him trouble.

He Gay, so naturally they had to give him an edge with the whole equality thing and such. You don't want the GAY commnumity ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about how weak he is.

+. also the hit range is unaffordable from many other characters. you got staffed in the face if you go near him on any situation trying to use frames to cover yourself or start a combo.
