I been playing this with my compact keyboard online and I get owned every time,do the best players use controller or keyboard? also what is the best pc controller to buy?

Mine is wireless so i think it works for both
I have a USB thing that i plug into the comp with is like the reciver of the wireless signals from the controll

You can use the old xbox 360 controllers but I don't recommend it for this game as the d-pad is a mushy piece of crap (You will also need to buy a separate USB wireless receiver for it to work on your PC) . I use an xbone controller which has a much better dpad and has improved my ability to play this game 10 fold. Microsoft released drivers not too long ago that allows you to connect an xbone controller to your PC using a micro USB cable (the same kind that charges any android phone). All you need is an xbox one controller, Micro USB cable, and the free drivers from microsoft that you can find with a quick google search. You don't even need batteries as the USB cable will provide power to the controller. That would be my recommendation. I've also heard that you can use PS4 controller on your PC as well but it requires some driver manipulation to work.

Avoid using (or paying) for a 360 controller. I'm just going to add that the 360 controller's d-pad is not suitable for fighting games. It's actually just a flat joystick, rather than a proper d-pad. If you are looking into a controller for Mortal Kombat X, you either want to use a PlayStation controller or something similar with a segmented d-pad. The problem with using PlayStation controllers on Windows is that there are no native drivers that allow them to work in games, so you have to depend on very sketchy third party drivers. I would not recommend going that route.

You said you are using a compact keyboard and getting owned every time. Have you tried moving to a full size keyboard (one with a number pad)? I've been playing MKX using a full size keyboard with custom controls. I use the WASD keys for movement, E for environmental interactions, and the number pad for strikes, grabs, and blocks. I own a 360 controller as well and customized keyboard controls are much better. I find it easier to do faster combos/moves with the keyboard because you rarely, if ever, do something you didn't want to do like jump foward when you meant to run foward. Using a full size keyboard is similar, and in some respects, arguably better, than using even a tradtional arcade fighting stick, simply because the chance to make a mistake on your movements is lower than with any other type of controller.

it doesn't matter on what you play you need to train at all perefery, playing on a arcade stick doesn't mean u are a good player.

Fightstick all the way. I use the Madcatz TE Fightstick for the xbox 360 as it also works with PC. Thinking of buying an adapter to use on the ps4 though so I can play there. Fighting games are always better on console.

I've been using the 360 controllers for quite sometime now but found the D-Pad to be insufferable. So I took the dive and bought a Xbox One controller, I find it to be a much better option if you have the money.

Wrong. The best players are using standard PS4 controllers due to its block accessibility. All the pros I've seen recommended AGAINST using a fight stick for that specific reason. Also, in MKX it is way easier to use the DPad on the PS4 controller for movement rather than the joystick.

I don't know about that. The buttons on the fightstick have become second nature to me and you can always remap the buttons anyway. I see a lot of pros using fightsticks. I thought they all did, honestly.

how is playing on console better? they have less frame potential, lower screen quality and less hrz than a PC. so are the players all trash? is that what makes it better?
