It's very up and down and variable as well needs stability fixes. Lots of disconnects. Unsure at this point if its the game or peoples crap computers/ internet. I guess its the game...
At least since the latest patch I have stopped crashing at character select.
Still should have been far better in this day and age. TTT2 on playstation shifts a hell of alot more data due too being 3d and is the gold standard along with KI
Overall I am very meticulous about this and was expecting it to be crap. But I am at this point at least able to have somewhat of a good time with it, just at this point we shouldn't have to be putting up with input variable netplay in any fighter. Ultimately it means you are playing a different game online and thats bad.
i am fairly ackustomed to the lag now
This can make multiplayer annoying sometimes but we can hardly know, if it's the netcode. Thats speculation as long as you dont know, if it's you opponents internet/settings, or yours.
Really depends on what time of day your playing to get matched with people that live close by.
Its just as bad as the connection between the two player. If they are not the "opposite side of the globe with bad lines" than its ok. I have played 300+ online matches and only around 5-6% were laggy.
Either that or fix your connection and stop the torrent app while your are playing the game.
If I play against someone who has a simlar connection as me (50mb download / 3.5 upload) then its fine. I played TTT2 on the 360 and only ever got issues with lag when my net was acting crappy. For example when I'd be at around 1mb upload. As soon as that went over 1.5mb everything would be alright. I'm assuming it's the same with this.
Problem is there is no way to check if the player I'm playing against has a decent ping, as that icon part seems to broken (at least for my game) so its pot luck half of the time if I get a decent match. I've stopped bothering to be honest until it gets fixed.
I am not an expert but I doubt that any multiplayer online game needs more than 256kbps upload. We are exchanging bytes here not megabytes. ehh
An other thing that a high bandwith cable connections have fluctuating performance sometimes that can cause lag meanwhile a much slower ADSL on digital line can be much more stable.
I always see these post that people think "higher bandwith=better/more stable" ping but a lot of times it is the opposite. Depends on the country and the technology ofc.
Wait. I have to do both!? Damn! Thanks for the pro tip.
I didn't say that having higher bandwidth equals better performance. I said that my upload is the only thing I've ever seen have an effect on online games/ping times. Regardless my connection is (usually) stable so I can only assume that its either the other players connection and/or problems with the game itself. I'm thinking the latter at the moment.
