its creepy indeed we can't even turn off this stupid function. For sure game should running smoother without this feature. Example? Cod MW 3 without game record function runs better than with it. Ofc this replays eat hdd space as well but not in that rate.

This was answered many times. In your system , you have the option of windows managing the pagefile size by itself. You are allowing windows to expand that file , which resides on your HDD , which windows uses it as RAM.

First , you run out of vram because of the memory leak , next you run out of RAM , and then finally once that is full , windows will use your hdd as ram.

You only option is rebooting , this way windows will clear your page file.

Next, right click on your computer icon , select properties.

advanced system settings
Advanced tab , under performance click settings
Advanced tab again , under virtual memory click change
Change from system managed size to custom size
Choose your page file size (some apps wont work with less than 512 or 1024) I choose 1024

Thats it, 1gb page file , that will never expand.

It isn't your game records that takes up hdd space, its the memory leak.

Still check the patch notes... reduced replays taking too much space on hdd. But i think your solution can be good because replays is stored i think in game folder not on system partition.

Too much space on HD ? Here is the file listing of the replays :

2 Dir(s) 30 504 841 216 bytes free

The save folder is this size : 13 File(s) 2 609 654 bytes

2 megabytes .. how much will you save if they reduce that even more?

Your argument sounds reasonable. Sorry for the confusion then.

No worries :)

The first real issue is the memory leak ....

Maybe people lose their saves once the HDD is filled up, and can no longer save? Doesnt explain why it would delete everything though .... are all the files gone when the save dissapears?

God so its mem leaks damit, but in my task manager my paged pool is at max 500 mb, and idk why these files using up my hdd but ill try what you said Roamin never hurts to try

You can view your pagefile if you turn on hidden files in your file explorer , and look where it set to be saved (probably on the root of your c:\ ) and see its current size. If you are referring to the Kernel MB PAGED memory , that is not the same thing. I dont know this exact paged memory refers to , but it says kernel memory, and shows this on your RAM stats page, so i'm pretty sure it just means 512 mb of your ram handles the paged kernel memory. My windows 7 uses also 512 mb of paged kernel memory, but my pagefile is set to 1 gb.

This is an actual file , on your HDD named : pagefile.sys , which can dynamically expand if the settings allow it to. Mine is at C:\pagefile.sys but with the hidden attribute set, so you cant see it unless you enabled to see hidden files.

Verum, its very possible your system requires 3gb , if you have some extensive software. That is ok. The point here is not to let windows handle the size on its own , because it will simply increase it non stop when it gets hit by the memory leak. Once you quit MK , and go on to other software , the pagefile's contents will be replaced with what your software needs, and all will be ok.

Its just that because of the leak , the system will think you need more ram , which you dont have , so it keeps using your HDD as ram (which is very slow) eventually running out of space.
