Better Jacqui Briggs than Freddy Kruger, the only MK9 character who totally fell out of the MK role, they could as well have added Jigsaw or even Mickey Mouse, same level of BS characters.

I quite like both of the new female chars, Cassie has good variations combining moves from both Johnny and Sonya in a better way than, they did Kira as a Sonya / Kano char, plus her combo's a simple and fluid making her a very good beginner character

Jacqui however plays a little like Jax, but that's where the similarities end, In shotgun mode she's got decent rush down and combo enders, in Full Auto she can zone very well, and Hi Tech is just the best, with the bonus to damage she gains in burning bar she can easily out damage most of the other characters

And it's clear that this game is supposed to be the Cage Families show, with Takeda, Kung Jin and Jacqui getting a back seat, personally I hope Jacqui takes the place of Jax in the later games, as quite frankly her gameplay is solid and other than the cheesy lines she delivers, she is a good character

Jacqui operates much like I would expect if they had Boba Fett join the game, which i do not have a problem with.

Anywho, Jacqui's biggest problem is her design is so generic. Take a look at her concept art you unlock in the krypt. You'll be surprised they didn't go with one of those versions, they're so much more interesting.

I dont mind Jacqui. I think more out of place are Kano and Ermac.

Kano is a full-time job pushover since mk9, sonya please kill him already.
Ermac is promoted everywhere, and he plays almost no role in the story, Kenshi as a telekinetic fighter is enough.

Instead of them, i`d put Fujin and Reiko.

Jacqui lacks in design, but her fight style is pretty enjoyable.

Out of all MK kids she is the most boring one (and this is already an achivement considering how boring they are in the first place). Kotal Jobbers aren't much better, but at least they are all interesting and different characters that have their unqie styles and looks. All of kids are basically watered-down versions of their parents with most boring tacticool-we-are-call-of-duty-now looks.
It's clear that Jacqui is there simply because they needed another black strong independent womyn character. And as always it shows that being forced to add something to a game never end with a good result. I mean, even her alternative costume is so effortless it's funny.

It`s not about racism or stereotypes.

Imagine, we could get cyborg, fujin, reiko, whoever would fit more, but no, let`s include a clone of Jax. And make him OP.

Why does it need to be connected with "political correctness?" Why cant it just be about the devs wanting to have a character that just happenes to be dark skinned?

Jax was a key character in the lore of MK, naturally if they want to make a new generation inspired by the previous one, his daughter would be dark skinned. :o

I like her alot, because i personally enjoy her playstyle and combos (not spamming gunshots fyi)
