{POSSIBLE FIX} FOR *DRIVER NOT RESPONDING* NVIDIA CARDS
Ok so after trawling threads and sending a lot of crash report files and system info dumps to WB support and now high voltage software For the best performance so far that i can see applying the mentioned fix below AND dialing back any factory overclock on your gpu (mine is gtx 970 ASUS strix and came factory oced by a margin)

after dialing back this Factory GPU boost and memory oc it seems that i have not had a full on driver crash so far

PLEASE PEOPLE

if you are having this issue, attempt the fixes suggested here and also leave any results/feedback in the thread

any of you who get crashes or errors after the fix i will happily grab some error report data from you and pass it on to WB support and HVS in my ongoing tech reports to them

for me at least these fixes have made a substantial difference so

*EDIT*===============================================================

So after some pretty consistent instances of the game crashing during a certain amount of time playing through matches (where it is a larger threshold in offline modes and usually shorter if playing online) I sent a ticket to WB support explaining the issue, my setup and the fact that many many users are reporting this crash issue across a range of hardware.

they asked for my MSInfo and DxDiag which i attached along with an added file showing the crash reports from my graphics driver crashes (crash in question is normally a driver stopped responding kernel mode error, which it seems is the most common error for people suffering the issue)

Today WB replied to my ticket again with them saying this

"Thank you for sending these files.
Could you please try the following:
Please go in this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\MK10\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012
You will find a file named: vcredist_x64.exe
Could you please right click on it and run as administrator. You will see a Microsoft Visual C++ window. Click on 'Repair' if you have the option. You might need to restart your computer.
Then try the game again and let us know if this helped. Thank you!"

So I have done that now, and will launch and play a while and see if this is any help

Before these crashes i was setting my affinity in task manager on MK10.exe and disabling a core of my cpu as i had read somewhere this may help with this issue, which it did seem to lengthen the time between driver crashes.

I will now run the game as normal without any of the fixes, see how it goes and report back if it seems to fix anything

heres hoping :)

Yes, help crash victims. Oh wait this isn't about crash victims?

bump so far been on since this post and no driver crashes across multiple opponents and 2 king of the hill sessions. this might be the reason for many crashes. do what the support said and see for yourslef. if it works for other s i will report this back to support and they will probably apply the fix in a patch

ok so the fix did not eliminate the driver crashing, although it did prolong my time in online mode before it happened. its worth noting i undid any of the other things i have done before hand to try to fix the problem myself including

setting mk10.exe in steam folder to run as admin and in compatibility mode (win 8 and win 7)
setting mk10 affinity in task manager and disabling a cpu core each time i boot the game.

i will now try booting and disabling a cpu core and report back again if/when the driver crashes again

Ok I did this and suddenly my screen is not fullscreen and has black outlines. only on 1080p is fullscreen (but i cant rly play it in 1080p) before i did this it wasnt like this. also it still crashes for me :( The game freezes in matches maybe the first couple of matches of a tower.

you did what?? the suggested wb wupport fix? if so did you run the correct vcredist??? you need to run the x64 file not the x86 as x86 denotes 32 bit which your system shouldnt be if your running this game.

The Window Boxing is off and it doesnt do anything

hmm well when i applied the mentioned fix nothing like that changed and a vcredist repair will not affect anything like your game resolution settings. in your settings maybe its set to windowed mode? im at a loss what would cause what your saying to happen. also it seems that i cannot login online to wbplay again right now,

could well be that my crash was actually triggered by the online service going down again as its crashed me out before when the service went offline for a few hours. i can only hope thats why but i dont see how it would trigger a driver response crash. i would have thought it would just sign you out of online play :/

this game is so very aggrevating because when it works its great but as it is the issues are so varied and online is so ropey :(

glad i could help, it seemed to help me a lot too, only time will tell if this actually fixes the driver crashes some are experiencing. i did crash after this fix was applied but just after the crash i couldnt log in to WBPlay service anymore so i think that crash may have been brought on by the service crashing out while i was in online games

still getting crashes :/ so confused :/
latigular Apr 20, 2015 @ 5:07pm
i tried that fix, playing 4 hours and not a single crash during the online play
hope it will remain and wont crash again because of nvidia driver
thx

great news, seems to be working for some people. i had crashes after the fix, but each time i couldnt log in online afterwards so i think that may of been the cause was the service going down causing a crash. hopefully more people can test and get this fix to work for them too
