Mortal Kombat X won't launch
Hi,

When I double click Mortal Kombat X a small steam menu pops up asking me whether I want to "Play Mortal Kombat X" or "Configure", I tried both and neither works, When I click play, nothing appears it says syncing for half a second next to the game in the game library and then nothing happens and when I click configure, another steam menu appears with a drop down selection bar with only my GTX 970 as a choice and a play button next to it, if I click play nothing happens. I have tried reinstalling it with no sucess, it says I have 29 packs installed and Goro, yet it still doesn't fucking work. I am going insane.

right-click on Mortal Kombat X in your game library, select "Properties" and click on "Set Launch Options", type "-windowed".

any of the advices won't work for me, process just not starting.
Found a fix on "missing dlls" on youtube, but can't get fixed because detection program needs process to be running whilst scan - not working for me since process just not start
Found a second fix which ppl actually commented as working - to change MK10.exe to MKX.exe
-not working on steam since it considers renamed file as missing one, and downloads MK10.exe back again.

Someone freakin help me please

I'm bumping up this post or thread to help some people who are searching for fixing this issue, since the steam's game launcher will not tell you what's up, and just doesn't launch the game and nothing happens, Soo... I got it to work after I went to try and launch the MK10.exe which is located in "C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\MK10\Binaries\Retail" But it couldn't run the game so it told me that I have a missing system files which are the "msvcp110.dll" and "msvcr110.dll". So I googled it and found a site which is ( https://www.dllme.com ) so I could download the missing and required dll files and copied then pasted them in my System32 folder which is located at "C:\Windows\System32" that fixed my problem and I got the game to launch and work just fine! I hope this helps you...

Keep in mind, if it asks you for a different system files which are the missing dll's sometimes it doesn't have to be "msvcp110.dll" or "msvcr110.dll" That is required to run the game. maybe in your case, It's different dll files... So just google whatever dll file it tells you that is missing, and go to the site which I just mentioned above and type that missing dll file and copy it then paste in your System32 folder, and you're all set to play! :D

This freakin worked! Thank you man

I also couldn't start up MK X. The problem started when I got a new TV and connected it to my PC.

It turns out that, although my PC's original screens were set to a refresh rate of 60 Hz, the TV defaulted to 30 Hz. MK X just won't start if my TV is set to 30 Hz (even if one of the 60 Hz screens is set as the main display).

Unhelpfully, there is no error message - MK X just doesn't start up. (The prequel MKKE, on the other hand, worked just fine.)

The solution for me, was simply to set my refresh rate to 60 Hz for ALL connected screens. I hope this is useful to someone else!

I was able to fix my issue!! (TLDR repair Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 x86 and x64. Restart PC)

Here's my timeline of events :
--Installed game, but when hitting play nothing pops up.. Green "Play" option pops up again.
--Ran the MK10 EXE in admin compatibility mode, and then got the error about missing file "msvcr110d.dll".
--Did some googling, people mentioned that this is part of the Microsoft Visual C++ ----Redistributable 2012.
--Repaired the x86 and x64.
--Restarted my pc, and the game works!!
