I didn't notice the possibility to force it through nvidia control panel? Gonna check again.
Now I can use 61 HZ and it did get a little better. 61 o 59 HZ shows up in this game and all the other titles now allow me 59, 60 or 61... Strange, but whatever :)
You can do that in resolutions screen of nvidia controll pane. I had 60 hz res, had to create 61 hz one.
Does it show 59 or 59.96? You're monitoring your frame rate with Afterburner, Fraps, etc. (as opposed to simply assuming that your tearing is due to 59 fps)?
If your monitor's native input were 59 Hz (it isn't), and if v-sync were applied, the resultant frame rate would be 59, and there would be no tearing. Tearing is the result of a frame rate that doesn't match the frequency that is output by the video card to your montor (the video card sends what you tell it to--e.g. 59, if your monitor's native frequency were 59 and if you'd selected 59 within Control Panel). My guess is that you don't have v-sync on, can't maintain a stable frequency-matched frame rate, or both.
Try this, however: Install MSI Afterburner (because it includes Rivatuner), and within Rivatuner, set "frame rate limit" to 60 (globally). Ensure that v-sync is enabled (within Control Panel--not the game), as well (not "adaptive"--"on") (adaptive causes needless tearing [in spite of what's supposed to be matched fps/frequency], in many cases)
If your monitor is duplicated and not extended (try windows key+p to change quickly) some games will stick with the Hz of your TV and when extended windows will threat the monitors separately. Screen tearing will be gone after this! :D
