New to Mortal Kombat, need help on white bar near bottom

From mobile useage i know the bar at the bottom enables good attacks but how do i use it or make use of the damn thing?

When it has 1, 2 or 3 sections filled, you can press RT while performing special attacks thereby getting a more powerful versions of them. By pressing LT (I guess - correct me if I'm wrong) you can get a breaker. And with full bar you can ultimately land an X-Ray attack (LT+RT)

RT, example < > A + RT, press A + RT at the same time.
