I think i MIGHT have kinda figured it out:
I changed my sound card setting (Windows 7) which was on 5.1 to basic 2 speakers and now i can hear the dialog.
My only conclusion is a bug that has the announcer and in game voices flagged to come through the subwoof really low instead of the speakers...?
idk it does work now, just doesnt make full use of my sound system anymore.
- I found this in another forum, and it seems to be working for people. Confirms my suspicions about the game not liking speaker configurations other than stereo. I have not tried it yet, as I am not home, but give it a shot?
video plays first and a second later or so i hear the voices / impacts etc.
Sound is a big deal to me when it comes to the game and it almost makes the game unplayable. Switching between 5.1 and regular stereo is not that easy with this set up and has caused problems with other software like my media player. I think it is because of the realtek software. I am going to put my Soundblaster Zx card in this rig and see it that helps any. If not at least it is easier to switch between stereo and DDS.
Has anyone else had a problem with DTS interactive (5.1)?
this worked for me
