Third unlockable character is Reiko. You unlock him by beating story mode on hardest difficulty

Then there is no reason for anyone to play the story mode on any other lower diffulty than hardest because the characters will not be unocked. Right now we have one character as a preorder bonus(Goro). 4 DLC characters that will be released at a later day and 3 characters that are unlocked if you finish story mode on hardest diffuculty. Right? And i ask why those dlc characters were not made story mode unlockable characters too?? Also the fact that you need to finish it in hardest difficulty to unlock them shows that these must be the strongest characters in the game and the ones that most people will use online

Infallible logic. Cyber Sub-Zero and Quan Chi must have been the most powerful characters in the previous game, right?

Just because they are hard to unlock in no way says they will be the "strongest". People enjoy a challenge and something to aim for. People are so spoiled just being handed everything these days. Netherrealm has been trying harder and harder with each game to make MK a good Tourney fighter. They aren't going to just have unlockable characters go God mode. I'm excited about the challenge, and happy that I know to start on the hardest difficulty and not waste my time.

He was in a comic somewhere but it is nothing but wild speculation at this point.

Shao Kahn unlocked on Expert mode without losing match.

It is a good thing that these characters will be unlocked only if you beat the hardest difficulty of story mode beause this will force people to learn how to play the game and be good players. While in MK9 and the previous games it didnt matter in which setting you play because you were still unlocking the characters. But now this way people will have to become good players. Very good move from WB. I am very pleaseed to hear it.

The question mark on the select screen was confirmed on the Goro Lives stream to be a random button, so I dunno if that speculated 26th character is still there...

I dunno if thats true, but I think its the same with the J-fighters.

There's always the uppercut if someone can't be bothered with combos, AI literally walks into them.

On character select screen when you press Y/Triangle it will show up some options including random select like injustice. So there's still hope for "?" to be secret character. Reiko probably.
