Is the game badly optimized? Not really...
Okay, before anyone directs the f word in my direction: the memory leak is horrendous and it should be fixed ASAP but the game actually seems perfectly optimized if you take some factors into consideration:

- Unreal Engine 3 is rather old and it can only use 2 of your CPU cores - Edit: this actually turned out to be not the case: the engine is capable of using up to 4 cores but here it simply doesn't work that way and MKX just settles on 2 instead.
- If you make a game for an old engine and set the graphics quality into "overkill mode" (you do more with the engine than it can chew) the system requirements can get quite high.
- TESSELLATION: the game is full of it and it's always enabled (guess disabling it from the GPU settings could work). If you don't know what DX11 tessellation is: it basically makes the environment look more detailed geometrically than it actually is and it's quite the resource hog - this option in itself can kill an older GPU's performance.
- Particles: again, the game is full of high quality particle effects: these eat up your CPU and GPU if they can't handle it.

What the game needs in my opinion is a better options menu: people should be able to disable tessellation and they should have other options to fine tune performance.

Edit: If you're an AMD GPU owner it is actually possible to disable tessellation from the Catalyst settings. Try this it should give you a performance boost though I'm personally not familiar with AMD tech so I'm not sure if it works:

AMD Settings
1
Press the Windows Key or swipe from the right side of your screen and type "Control Panel." Select the "Control Panel" icon.

2
Select "Hardware and Sound" from the categories and then select "Catalyst Control Panel" from the Hardware and Sound page.

3
Expand the "Gaming" menu in the list on the left of the Catalyst Control Panel window. Select "3D Application Settings" and scroll down to Tessellation.

4
Remove the checks next to "AMD Optimized" and "Use Application Settings." Slide the tessellation bar to your desired level. All the way to the right is 64-times tessellation and all the way to the left turns tessellation off. When you're done, select "Apply."

Yes, it is badly optimized

If a PC can run GTA V and The witcher 3 at maximum quality and can't run MKX on maximum, it is
it's the worst optimized game of all time

If you have a PC that can run GTA V and the Witcher 3 maxed out while maintaining the 60 fps (note that you need the 60 fps in MKX) you can surely run MKX without problems. Rendering something in 30 fps and in 60 is not the same.

Run Arkham City (an UE3 game roughly using the same engine as MKX), then turn on tessellation and see how it performs.

I can run both in ultra in 60 fps but sky temple in MKX, on maximun, lags. And sometimes in story mode too

Someone has never played DMC3:SE.
my pc runs witcher 3 and gta 5 on high but can't handle mkx on low. tell me again how mkx is optimized.

False:

You're not actually saying that you have a GTX 980 or a TITAN X and Sky Temple lags when my GTX 970 runs the game without problems, right?

As I said: you can't turn off tessellation, it will stay on even if you set it on low.

I'm using a 980, it can handle GTAV with max settings including very recourse heavy options like advance distance scaling, long shadows, and similar stuff yet i get the occasional stutter in MKX and sky temple drops frames like a ♥♥♥♥♥ if i go too far left. If your argument isn't weak enough i must also remind you that MKX on PS4 runs flawlessly and the PS4 uses hardware that's very out of date. Some things are demanding yes but when high tier systems can't even run it flawlessly it's safe to say that the game is badly optomised.
ps4 is a potato and it runs perfect. one word, HVS

more than 1 guy saying the same argument and you still think you are right?

I'd like to remind you that a PS4 has much better access to the console's hardware than a PC running WIndows does, it's also dedicated hardware so even if the PS4 is much weaker than a high end PC it can have better performance. On top of that the PC version looks slightly nicer.

As for your problems with the GTX 980: I really don't understand. What kind of CPU do you have?
MonkeyBone May 21, 2015 @ 8:25am
i5 3750k and i've had no problems running some very graphically intense games like Witcher 2, Alien: Isolation, as mentioned before GTAV, and Ground Zeroes to name a few.

Not if the facts don't add up: if you can run WItcher 3 on ultra and GTA 5 on ultra while also maintaining the 60 fps all the time then you should have no problems with MKX.

Key word, SHOULD have no problems but the problems of MKX are VERY well documented and in high detail too, NRS are very aware of the PC's problems, HVS are very aware and trying to fix it, but it's something that's casuing many people, with many different set ups, problems. This whole thread reaks of "it works fine for me :)" which is a stupid thing to put.
