PS 2 controllers on MK 10 For ppl trying to use usb adapter for ps2 controllers on pc.
For ppl trying to use usb adapter for ps2 controllers on pc.

Anyone who has try this know what im talking about, being looking on the web on how to solve this issue and finaly i did and ill like to share it with you.

The problem using Usb adapters to connect PS2 controllers with mk 10 was that the game wont load, will free on mk black and white logo and if you press alt+ctrl+del you will see the process not responding. If load the game and then connect the adapter the game will exit automatically.

The solution is not complicated. i follow some tutorials i found on the web about fixing the reversed axis (http://gtaforums.com/topic/383548-possible-fix-for-usb-gamepad-problem/) in gta iv.
i follow ony the first step of that tutorial where you have to change your usb adapter name.
so the first step is to identify your usb adapter´s name by going to control panel devices and printer ( in my case cause im using windows 8.1) and look for your gamepad icon, right click on it and go to gamepad configuration, write down the name of the gamepad and we are ready to follow the tutorial , only the part one witch is the one where you rename your gamepad adapter to a logitech one, i used the same on the tutorial.

this are the steps to rename it :

Part one
In Windows, click start ->run then type regedit.exe and click ok

Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, open SYSTEM, open ControlSet001, then Control, media properties, private properties, joystick, OEM.

view each folder (should look like VID_0428&PID etc) until you find the controller you have. (should be USB GAME PAD) if its PS2
mine was "Twin USB Vibration Gamepad"
When you see you controller, double click where it says OEMName to the left of where its says the name of your controller, change it to "Logitech Rumblepad 2 USB".

After you do that you are ready to use your PS 2 controller witch i feel way better than xbox360 but you will have to unlearn the xbox controller in case you use those, i feel my hands empty now when im grabbing the ps2 instead of the xbox360. the key input is very accuracy.

Well the other problem is that you will have to remap your buttons since they are switched . im having the issue that is not saving the configuration once and change buttons ingame. but i rather to lose just one or two minutes reconfiguring the keys cause it worth it.

Hope you enjoy it and thank you very much for your time also thanks a lot to the first tutorial creators cause based on their knowleage i could achieve this.

Feel free to use this document to help anyone.

Hi, thanks for this info, but the only problem i have are my buttons, how can i remap my ps2 controller buttons? i just bought the game and installed a mod to swap the xbox buttons to the playstation, so i played the game with my ps2 controller and notice that the action buttons (Circle, X, Square, and Triangle) are inverted.
Do you know how can I remap them? :isaac:

for the navegation on the game you cant change the buttons layout, but for the fights you do, just press star and go to controllers , and customize you controls, i use a usb adapter and 2 ps2 controllers working as a charm. buttons are reversed because of the adapter. but the work nicely

I had the same problem with inverted controls using my ps2 controller, tried different solutions and nothing helped. Somehow the game makes the in-game controls for all non-xbox360 controllers inverted. This problem is very annoying and has something to do with this exact game. What you need to do is to download a program called MotioninJoy. Then open it, go to Driver Manager, check the box corresponding to the usb port where your controller is plugged into, then click Load driver. When it's finished loading go to Profile and check the box on (Xinput-Default) Xbox 360 Controller Emulator. Finally the problem should be resolved and you're good to go. There may be some issues with driver not loading though. If this happens, just write back in this thread and I'll help. Cheers!

Or get a brooks converter ps2 to xb1. Works with ps1 controllers as well.
Also on Amazon ps2 to xb360, generic one, but works well.

by "inverted" you mean that if on screen it says "X" you need to press circle instead ? im having a similar "issue" online (using a PS4 controller + ds4windows) so i see Xbox icons , but for example if i have to press "X" to skip the info after a fight, in my controller is "circle" instead (on screen "A -xbox" - "b-xbox" )

That tutorial fix that issue ? i may give it a try if that was your problem

I use this mod, this replaces the xbox buttons to the playstation buttons, so yeah now when the screen says "X" is the X of a PS controller.

https://www.reddit.com/r/MortalKombat/comments/33himy/pc_mod_for_playstation_button_icons_found/

The problem i had was that when the screen said to press "Circle" I had to press "X" on my PS2 controller, all the action buttons were screwd up, but with the tutorial i was able to fix that.
