Game crashes on character selection screen.

Hi guys,

My game is crashing on the character selecting screen. Immediatly after I pick a variation or right after I pick my character and the 2player charater. I believe this issue started after the Tremor patch.

The worst part is that I can't quit the game. It just freezes and I can't even open the Task Manager window to kill the application. I can only either restart my computer or terminate session, which is troublesome.

Anyone else with this issue?

Edit: Usually happens the first time I run the game after turning off my laptop and turn it on again, on second try it usually works.

laptop = your problem. There are lots of people online this weekend.

Dude please... My laptop does run the game on maximum performance. That's not the issue. If you're not willing to help at least don't bother writing anything at all.

Did you try reinstalling the game or try verifying the files?

I have verified the game files. The same problem remains. I am avoiding reinstalling everything untill I have no other choice :\

Okay hmmm. Then I don't know what to tell you. Maybe try googling the problem or search the forum and see if anyone else is having this issue.

I was trying to see if anyone had the same problem because of the path or something. Since no one else seems to have this issue I will assume that my game just got messed up somehow. I will reinstall the game and hopefully it will work well again.

I have the exact same problem. my rig is good enough to run it mostly at 60 fps stable max settings. started after tremor patch.

I bought the game wednesday expecting this game to run perfect after 3 months.
I can't even play it. Driver crash at title screen or if I ever get into the game it crashes at character selection, in-game, krypt, etc. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I think NVIDIA needs to come out with a driver for MK.

My MKX ran fine since I bought it (3 weeks ago) but today it suddenly started to freeze before kombat begin (cinematic intro part)...

Well glad I'm not the only one after all. I'm reinstalling the game at the moment. Hope it fixes the issue.

I don't know wtf... I restarted the game a few times and the PC too... not working... but I close the Steam client (just the window, not the app) and Chrome and suddenly game works fine again...

EXACT same thing has been happening to me. My game has been mostly fine for months, but today I tried it for the first time since the Tremor patch, and now I can't get past the character select screen. Like you, I can't even access the task manager when this happens and have to restart the computer.
