MK X = Young justice? Problem: lame characters
Oh my god these characters are bad as hell :D Its like a family meeting, son of kung lao son of this daughter of this and this , and they going on missions while the elders are fighting for real. Its like exactly You Justice the cartoon series :D

Where are the good characters?! MK Armageddon had schitload of characters and they were unique, even Mokap is better than every new character in MK X :D Maybe the guy with the revolver is cool but nothing else, even the reptile girl is a ripoff of Reptile and the ferra/torra just makes no sense.


Who else feels the same?

I do feel simmilar so u're definitely not alone. The only new characters I like is Erron and Cassie. So many awesome MK characters didn't make the cut and here we have Ferra/Torr, Takeda, Jacqui and so forth.

I guess it was just NRS' main idea for the story. This whole 'new generation' thing.

In my opinion only Jacqui and Kung Jin are lame.

After MK3, almost every new character that Midway crated was garbage. Personally I consider MKX new characters quite good for their abilities.

Interesting fact: MK`s problem with crappy characters started at MK4, it was at the time the John Tobias left. I don`t remember what was his specific role in making MK games besides he was it`s "father" with Boon, but i think his job was design and creativity stuff, so go figure.

UPDATE: Quote from wikipedia: "Tobias developed the early Mortal Kombat series' storyline and designed the majority of the character roster from the early games in the series up until Mortal Kombat 4."

In general I think the best character in MK X is "Kenshi". He can:-
*Reflect projectiles.
*Zoning attacks.
*Close Kombat with his "Kenjutsu" variation.

As so for the most boring character I guess mainly Scorpion because he's so over repeated character. I tried to like him but I found him to be one of the most boring characters in MKX due to his old moves.

Agree and players should discover the other two variations for these two characters instead of playing with the machine gun and that long stick all the time.

IMO Kenshi is boring AF, the most boring samurai ever. His calmness and "master miyagi" attitude are repulsive for me.

well i think MK4 was okay, many player hated Reiko and Shinnok and Kai, but they were still better than these.

After the MK downfall after the MK3-4, NR resurrected MK with a great reboot, and now the downfall comes again... schitty characters, lame storyline (every character's chapter is by beating 3 enemies in a row than everything switches...), the awful port etc...

I love Mortal Kombat, when i was a kid i played with the original ones in the arcade machine bars for days, so i can see the whole MK objectivly , but today's kiddos just shouting my head off that i am an idiot, i don't know what i am talking about, i know nothing, and this is how MK should be... Well, i am pretty sad, cuz my childhood's game betraying me :(

As far as the new villains, my main problem is that all of them, except D'Vorah were basically little more than footnotes. Erron Black and Ferra/Torr were just beaten up and then disappeared from the narrative. Kotal had little to do once the civil war was over.

I'm not a fan of the design, but my reason is that the blind swordsman trope is incredibly overused.

well said man. well said sadly only a few people understand your point, without doubt story based and roster based MK X is the worst mk ever made to the date even MK vs DC can outplay this in that term

Naah. The 'character problem' started right here in MKX. Just compare the newcomers to the characters I decided to list:

MK4 - Kai, Fujin, Jarek, Tanya, Shinnok(?) - nope he had his first appearence in Mythologies

MK:DA - FROST <3 , Mavado - [Takeda is pretty much inspired by this guy], Kenshi, Li Mei - great to see these characters coming back in comics or cameos

MK:Deception - Shujinko (comics), Havik (comics)

Anyways I do believe the characters I picked would be way more interesting/memorable/enjoyable than the MKX newcomers.

I think the new characters are interesting but the plot was poorly told. Obviously im a big fan of Dvorah, plus I do enjoy the design and personality of characters like Kotal and Ferra/Torr. However, the plot made some of the characters completely obsolete or look like garbage. Quan Chi got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the story.

it's good to see that not i am the only one who doesnt like where the MK series are heading. Because we have this problem that we discussed, and then on the other hand we have the idiot characters that if it is even fit in the KINDA mk universe, its still lame. I am mentioning: predator,freddy,jason... Seriously?

Oh and to top this: people want Terminator, Leatherface and (grab your fcking seats) DWAYNE JOHNSON THE ROCK!!! What-the-freaking-fcking-hell?!?!

I don't think establishing a new cast of characters is necessarily a bad thing. Design and personality wise, most did well outside of Jacqui who's just kinda dry. I don't really want to see older characters unless its a deal like with Kenshi where they're from the 3D games and had an interesting concept. Example is a character like Havok. I don't wanna see Shujinko though. Hes really lame.
Tbh i think most people who hate the new cast partly have nostalgia goggles on.

the "reptile girl" "ferra/torra" haha this guy dont even know the name of the characters .

For me the roster is fine, what do you want ? the same characters in every game ??? You have GORO as an ICONIC character (MK1 firs appearance as a sub-boss)

Also.
Mileena
Sub Zero
Scorpion
Kitana
Liu Kang
Rayden
Kung Lao
Quan Chi (since MK4 he has turn a very importan player in the game plot)
Reptile
Jax
Sonya
Shinnok(since MK4 as Quan chi)

Most of them are since MK1 or MK2


The guest characters are great, well made ,fun to play, deadly if you master them .

The new players , such as Kung Jin , Jaquie , Cassie , "the repitle girl" D'vorah are not bad, they have a nice story. I agree with you in some way ,there are a lot of spammers (Jaquie Full auto) and noobs that use - and abuse- of the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ combo over and over againg , like in Kung Jings Bojutsu variation , i hate spammers =/

PS: Another kid with not even 10 hours of gameplay judging the game , guess he has finished story mode and klassic tower mode with all the players ,so that he can state that most of them are lame
