What happened to 4K resolution option?
I just downloaded an update today and I can't go higher than 1440P now, what happened to 4K?

I have a 4K monitor and I've been playing in 4K up till now, but now there isn't anything above 1440P. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I loved playing it in 4K, but now I can't anymore.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Okay, I'll try that. How exactly does gedosato work?
Jigawatt Jul 15, 2015 @ 2:42pm
I don't remember exactly, but if you're only doing resolutions, it was pretty simple, here is a link: http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?page_id=582

Alternatively, I know a lot of Nvidia cards have extra resolutions available via the DSR (dynamic super resolution) function baked into the nvidia control panel in 'manage 3d settings'. Once you activate it (on gedosato or nvidia) the extra resolutions should become available from the in-game menu.

I have DSR set to 4.00x in the nvidia control panel, but Ialways thought I just keep it in-game at 4K for all pc games. Am I supposed to change it to a resolution above 4K for DSR to work? Does this mean that I haven't been playing any pc games in DSR 4x 4K this whole time? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

This would be the proof you can't even see the difference.

I have trouble remembering how it looks like before, so the only way I know it's 4K is if the resolution is actually set to 4K. If I switch from 4K to 1440P (or vice versa), I can't remember how it looked like a little while before, so I can't ever compare one resolution to another. I just have to go by what the game settings say to determine what resolution it currently is.

so you got your 4k option back in mkx? Yeah you should try some other games, if you have dsr set to 4x, i would think there are resolutions now available for you even higher than 4k. DSR works by rendering at resolutions higher than your screen normally displays, then downsamples back down for a supposedly prettier image. so you can set your games to 6k or 8k in the in-game display settings and see if there's a difference

Weird.. Mine still thave the 4k resolution option as always.. Nothing changed here after this last patch. I'd not use DSR whatsoever... this is meant for people with 1080p monitors with rigs that can push to higher resolution. Deactivate DSR completely and set the internal resolution of your games to 3840x2160.

I'm sure you never saw a game running in 4k.. The difference is abysmal.

OK, I'll try that and see if it fixes it.

Mine disappeared too. Not even a 1440p option. It loaded up in 1200x800 and the only thing after 1080p is 1920x1200.

Yeah, still can't do 4K, just up to 1440P still. I hope this gets fixed soon! The whole reason I bought it for PC was for the 4K graphics.

Still no 4K option, even after Tremor patch. Any help with getting this problem fixed would be greatly appreciated. I contacted Customer Support too, hopefully they can figure out why it's no longer there.

If you have a native 4k monitor why would you use DSR?

Anyways you can over ride the registry and install whatever native resolutions your monitor can handle with CRU, I dunno what your problem is with your resolution but it has let me run MKX at 3k since launch.

Does that over ride the game's registry or the graphics card registry? I'm not very tech savy. Can this mess up my pc if I do it wrong? I'm a little nervous about changing the registry.

I also tried using gedosato before, but it didn't work with MKX. It worked with Injustice, but for some reason it downsampled from 4K to 4K, instead of a higher resolution. I don't know how to add MKX to the program. I made a user profile for gedosato, but that doesn't seem to work with MKX. I also tried making a new ini file in gedosato for the game, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on the game either.

What am I doing wrong with gedosato? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. I'll also try the CRU program and see if I can get it to work.

Thanks.
