Who is most OP?

I'm sure this topic has been redone to death by now but I'm new to this forum. I've mained Mileena (ravenous) and while she is fun to play as, she seems a bad matchup against any character with ranged ground strokes (jason, kun jin, erron). I want to main another charcter but dont know who to pick.

thought about swtching to kun jin - apparently hes easy to land combos with, with good high/overhead variation. anyone esle? any help much appreciated

Tanya (any variation, honestly), Kung Lao (Tempest), Raiden (Thunder God), Sonya (Covert Ops), D'vorah (Swarm Queen), Cassie (Spec Ops or Hollywood), Kung Jin (Bojitsu). Can't go wrong with any of those, although Kung Jin is much weaker than he was originally.

People asking for most OP characters are the noobs who cant get gud. Every character is OP if you know how to play.

in no specific order, I'd say the best characters atm (not on pc but for the patch on consoles) is tanya (any variation really), raiden thunder god (still good), Kung Jin Bojutsu, Kung Lao Tempest, Jax Heavy Weapons, and Cassie. I'd put Dvorah on there but since the nerf, she's probably gonna be seen less and less. Also, I would consider putting Shinnok on here, either Bone Shaper or Imposter.

ye shinnok got nice buffs and also alot of pro's uses him now

also, if you're playing the PC version as mileena, I'd stick with mileena for the upcoming patch. She got a lot of good buffs that makes her better. Not top tier better imo but a viable character.

Jason in slasher get zoned against mileena its a really bad matchup for him, in relentless is a little bit better but I still think mileena has the advantage in the matchup.

Kung Lao
Liu Kang
Scorpion

That's it. Literally. No one on the PC has any desire to play anything new or different. Just the op characters.

Liu Kang is not top tier/OP. Hes a solid mid. He can't get past 25 percent without using meter, his run cancel advantage isn't very good, he has no solid overhead starter. etc. Sub is good but hes only really good as a counterpick character as opposed to an overall really strong character by himself. Scorpion as of the newest patch on consoles is severly nerfed. Hell fire is not as good anymore, and infernos damage has been adjusted. Ninjitsu has been buffed but that variation lacks the high lows the other 2 bring, which to me puts scorpion to top 10 rather than 5.

Probably not as they are "OP", but as they are one of the older characters that people can relate to unlike all these new and boring ones. They should have just built upon the MK9 character pool.

This is the first time I'm hearing Liu Kang is OP. Just curious - which variation do you think is OP? Also I barely find any Liu Kangs or Kung Laos online. I bump into Takedas and Kung Jins more often than any of the characters you mentioned.

Exactly. Also remember that many of us 'PC-only' gamers haven't played a Mortal Kombat game in a long time so I'm guessing many like me gravitate towards the older characters whom we haven't played in years - or in my case more than a decade or something.
