How do I use the arrow keys for the controls

Im a keyboard user, no controller. I want to knwo how to configure the controlls so that I can use the arrow keys to move and the QWEASD keys for the moves? thats how I played all the other MK games. When you go tot he layout controller options it is completely confusing. I cant make the controlls ont the left side fo the sreen se the arrow keys. It keeps telling me "its in use by another player"... wtf?

If you want to be a pro in this game don't use the Keyboard. You might feel comforable at first but if you want to upgrade your skills then the controller is the way to go. Note that this is coming from a Keyboard user in MK X.

You have to rebind keys so Player 1 uses those that are not in use by Player 2 (and vice versa).
Just bind Player 2 controls to some weird ♥♥♥♥♥ like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 - you get the idea.
Changing keyboard binding is always a pain in fighting games, but in MK and SF its ok-ish, in KOF and BB its god facking awful.

Oh, and some piece-of-♥♥♥♥♥ games like DOA5 wont let you rebind anything.

Keybindings are horrible in this game. Ive been busy with it for 15 mins for f sake.. Then i just uninstalled, i have no controller and not the patience of a buddah. Done with this sh!t. F port games.

Mmm maybe because i have the game just for 1 week now (sale) and i understand how a forum works? The topic might be old, but the struggle is still there. I just found out this game is a cheap port to pc and that the controlles/keybindings are painful. So i search for a solution in an existing topic instead of creating a new topic which will pi ss everyone off. Just finding a solution thats all.

Seems fine to me weither i use a controller or keyboard. But i will say that using a controller is alot easier. But of course i played the first mk at the arcade then later on the sega genesis. The snes version sucked. But the game is so good that when i bought my kids a xbox one last week i bought another copy of mortal kombat xl.

To anyone in the future struggling with keybindings, make sure you swap out the keybindings for the keys you want in ALL 4 presets of the other players. I was having issues where I thought I cleared the bindings but again, there are 4 presets for each player.

Thank You sarc! I had the same idea but managed to fail saving last preset so after changing that it allowed to bind arrow keys as well
