Well, I don't personally play either (I'm going to start playing Leatherface, however), I can give you tips for any character you hope to play. NEVER, I mean NEVER just start playing them. It's actually a bit of a weird process, but if you play more than one character, then let me tell you that playing at least a half an hour of that character, putting it off for a few days, come back and test to see if you remember some of the inputs, then get to playing better. Memorizing what your character can do, every single option (kombo), is crucial to becoming better with them. When you feel confident that this is the character you're willing to master and wreck raging noobs, go ahead and get started looking at all kinds of combo tutorials for that character. Just look up a decent tutorial like "30% kombos with _____" and you'll find any tutorial for the character. It's not just about how well you play your character, but also how to get past and defeat your opponent, who might also play very well too. Don't get mad if you lose! Seriously, taking it easy and accepting failure is the quickest way to improving. Heck, every now and then verse someone you have NO CHANCE against because you can see how others play, and you might even get the opportunity to practice with someone who plays your character better than you!
[Edit] PATIENCE! Getting better is also extremely important when it comes to mastering a character. Every character is unique, so they all have their own sets of large combos and timing. Sometimes it's okay to get frustrated when you can't get the perfect time. But, practice makes perfect. Don't be afraid! Fight!

Get ready to become addicted!

Hope this helped ^_^

I play both Leatherface and Jason.

Leatherface is literally a pressure character who does damage. Doesn't have much combo capability, though.
Jason is sort of an easy-mode Tank-ish character, cause he has Armor on most of his moves. He does have alot of combo capability and is very easy to play.

My tips aren't very useful, but eeeh... I tried.

Leatherface can punish you with 50% combo .... jason is not an "easy-mode tank-ish" character .

ingnore @YouTube/MoonLingTing "advice" ..... if you want to git gud with a character you will need to practice , practice the basic strings , learn them all . Then start doing some bnb's combos , learn them all , learn the frame data of your character , what is safe / unsafe , then go with more advaced stuff .

Don't know about you, but Jason is pretty much a tank when it comes to armor, and his combos are pretty easy. That's why I said that. :v

i play both too. NO and NO

all leatherfaces very match up depended, mainly butcher for close battles, PL for characters who weak against zoners. there NO pressure for Leather at all, because he has no good mid and easy outpoked, and too many disadvantage. only Butcher can something because fast command grab. Killer is trash because no mid and large disadvantage, only great he has - big damage ie punish ability, but even War God do same, but better

Jason easy to play but hard to learn, because you need command grabs inputs, setups on oki, competent mixups with your grabs etc but he much stronger than Leather who has many flaws and very mu depended character
