does goro come with mkxl?
the bundle says it gives you 9 characters

If you get KP2 or outright buy XL then yes he does. If you just get the free patch/upgrade then he doesn't.

Mortal Kombat XL includes the main game, and all Kombat Pack and Kombat Pack 2 content:
--Predator, Jason Voorhees, Tremor and Tanya, with three themed skins
--Alien, Leatherface, Triborg and Bo’Rai Cho
--Apocalypse Skin Pack, Goro, Brazil Skin Pack, Kold War Skin Pack and Kold War Scorpion Skin
--Samurai Skin Pack

Pinky, I was hoping that my game would show up as Mortal Kombat XL after I bought the XL patch, but it still appears as Mortal Kombat X. Will it always appear as Mortal Kombat X?

We have passed the message to those that handle the naming of the game in the Steam Library. At least for now, it will show as X in your library but the title screen will show XL.

Yeah, store checkout page warned me I "won't be getting one of the following: Goro DLC" when buying Kombat Pack 2 because I already own it, so yeah, he comes with it.

Yes, you will. I think it's not that he's a part of KP2 but rather when you buy KP2 and already have KP1 the game upgrades to XL edition, which in turn has Goro and some other stuff like skins.
So if you already have KP1 and buy KP2 you'll get him. Or if you don't have the game and buy XL you will also get him.
