Club Bam Bam GAME BREAKING BUG! Please help!

Because of a bug, I'm stuck on the mission where Winston sends you to Club Bam Bam to talk with Benny. After I clear the 2nd floor of the club and knock on Benny's door, the game crashes to desktop right after the cutscene, meaning I have to start the mission all over again, karaoke and all, from my apartment.

Skipping the cutscenes does not fix this, completing the fight without environmental kills does not fix this (I thought it might be a particular scene causing it, but both fish slippage and grab-from-behind crash to desktop), and changing outfits does not fix this.

Please help. I want to finish this game, and if I have to hear "I Fought the Law" one more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time, I'm going to go nuts. This is the only crash-to-desktop error I've encountered in the game, and it always happens at the same point.

So this is clearly a common issue (though not quite as common as failure to launch or low framerate from the looks of it). Inexorabilis [developer] said "That's odd - If you've deleted and reinstalled the game entirely through Steam I'm not quite sure why that would happen except if your save profile was somehow corrupted. I'll try a previous save, but that's going to cost me at least an hour of gameplay (I was doing cop missions and drug busts on my most recent save) on top of the time I've already spent trying to get around this bug. I'll post later with my results.

Other users have had success with the replay with a different save. I know it's not ideal, but at the end of the day it's only an hour of gameplay.

Have a look at whether Verifying Integrity of the Game Cache resolves the issue.

When playing Mass Effect, I encountered a crash (the first and pretty much only one) towards the end of the game, which occurred at exactly the same point every-time. I tried replaying it 3-4 times and then resorted to searching online, which showed users having that exact issue. Solutions suggested to have a look at verifying the contents of the game - I verified the game twice (it "failed to download some files" the first time round), it downloaded a couple of files, I restarted my system - and the game worked fine since.

So, I downloaded the game off of steam and played it until the bam bam club mission, and like so many others, the game crashed to the desktop after a fight and a cut scene. I went on the forums, and was advised to reset to a previous save: did that, no improvement. Went and verified the integrity:no missing files, no improvement. Deleted local content, reinstalled, played, crashed, reset to save, crashed, verified integrity, all present, crashed.
Any other suggestions for what I could do would be appreciated.
P.S. I now hate that song with a passion.

I get the same problem and finally I tune my resolution to 320x240 and i can pass after benny is locked in the door.

Being the idiot that I am, I never thought to reduce the resolution. Thank you Good sir, you are a wonderful person. it all works perfectly now. and i turned it back to a normal looking res. so I dont have to play a nintendo 64 game.

It happened to me but it makes me reinstall the game and now I have to start all the game from the beggining, I can't find any save file... does anyone have a save file from that mission or similar? my mail is [e-mail] thanks!!
