Mission death by a thousand cuts unbeatable?

It's so unforgiving and such bs you can't dodge it all most i get is 19 kills before i die is there a strat to this?

Guys, this mission is easy (used an Xbone controller). What i did was throw the cleaver at the first guy that runs at you. From there just counter and punch everyone. If you take care to do it this way then the mission is incredibly easy. Don't worry if you do as i've said and you get to like 15 or something and then you get hit and poisoned, as when this happened to me all i did was pick up a knife. As soon as you see someone with a red outline, immediately start spamming the Y button. You want to do this until there are no more red outlines as they will normally attack 2/3 times in a row. Then slash as many people with the knife as you can before you see another red outline. Rinse and repeat. :)

The play style is completely irrelevant, the combat bugs are what otherwise make it a disaster, ie; "Dodging" a knife swing still results in you being poisoned (stackably), at least in my game.

Edit: Oh and add to the fact that if you do die during the mission, every buff you had bought gets lost to boot, so yeah, good job to the developers for both those oversights.

Definitely doesn't seem like there's any real sane (non-cheat) way to beat it early-on when the mission unlocks so not entirely sure why they open the mission up so early.

i did it round about 45 minutes after unlocking it, with no "buffs" at all. I didn't get poisoned after dodging knife attacks though, so maybe i'm just lucky that i've not had any bugs so far other than cars spawning on top of other cars, and horrible camera control, if you want to include that. ;)

I constantly get poisoned when dodging, it's to the point I'm basically just running around full retarded tackling guys and one-shot hitting them while they're down and I still can't quite get it once the bigger guys show up at 20+ kills as you can't do that to them.

And not to be a know it all, Nix, but this might help you. I think you CAN counterattack their melee weapons just fine. Unlike hand to hand, you have to LOCK-ON to counter a melee weapon. Try that.

I don't think I figured that one out until my 2nd playthru or so myself.

Welp another fun one to add to the list. I tried taking the advice of someone else to throw knives at guys since it 1-shots most of the time, and the game managed to apparently throw the knife at myself and instant-killed me, lol.

THIS! This happened to me! So i just did it my own way and found it wasn't too hard xD

Did not have too much trouble with this, it helped me however to change the attack key to something on the keyboard instead of left click.

Wait how can no-one in this thread yet have mentioned:
Throw knife
Lead them away
Run back to pick up the knife
Repeat x30
Since the knife throw is an instakill, this will finish the mission in like 10 minutes. I just did it by myself while still in the beginning of the game, with full health at the end of the mission. Just remember that their far kick has a stupid hitbox, so when necessary, counter it. But literally, that's all!

No one is going to mention stun moves and the insta-kill technique? Step 1. lose the knife, dodging sucks ass parry instead.

You get your stun moves way early in the game, the short combo is favorable in a situation where you have to be ready to block most of the time, plus it disables an enemy for longer than tripping.

In the event og desperation, cheese the ♥♥♥♥ out of it by rolling over their backs and grappling them from behind. The only problem is Wei likes to grab people you're not looking at. Fortunately this is not a problem until like the last 5 guys when wrestlers show up.
