I have googled it last night, was able to find highly trustable sources, too busy atm to try to find it back but if i find it i will post it back.
Also there's fmore environemental way to kill.
I do like to work for ,free.
I still bought Definitive edition!
Shadow of Mordor and Skyrim both gave people FREE HD pack upgrades.
Trying to sell me a HD pack that costs more then I paid for the base game is a joke. The HD upgrade should be a DLC that players get free if you own the base game + all DLC and at 75% off for everyone else who doesn't own all DLC.
There's already a free HD pack for the first game, as the definitive is far from just an HD pack.
In the words of Barry Burton. What is it? Hope this isn't Chris's blood?
So what graphics are we paying $15 /£10 for?
WHy do you complain about the game not being free, when 87% of your 669 games aren't even played?
You purchased games you wouldn't play, fine, but don't complain when it's time to buy the gmae you would want to play.
Because.. Steam logic? ;D
This isn't the same. You should compare it to instead a free "electronic update" to the car's computer that will add an extra 50hp. Which can be emailed to you and you simply put it in a USB to update the car. $0 cost to the car manufacturer after mass emailing everyone.
That's more of a fair comparison. Since this update is really not costing the dev's ANYTHING at all for those that already have the game.
To admend my original analogy (which I found perfectly adequate myself), perhaps it's better to compare it to The Lord of the Rings standard edition trilogy on DVD. If you originally owned those, would you expect to get the extended editions free from the company at a later date just because you own the original version? Or you think they would just "patch" in the extra scenes? I think not.
Whether we like it or not, the original owners complaining about the prospect of paying for both should have simply waited for this version if they weren't willing to pay the extra now. And for those exclaiming the new version doesn't add anything worth having, then why in the world do they want it so badly?
Regarding your last point, we don't know what this cost the devs. As I understand it, they switched the exe over from 32-bit to 64-bit, re-did most of the textures and added new effects to the engine. And ignoring the PC version, I'm pretty sure they had to start from square one when porting to the specific architecture of the PS4 and Xbox One.
That sounds like "work" to me. Whether or not we original owners find it impressive, it is considered an entirely separate product from the original, and the fact is, the developers and publishers must be paid.
It's just that a few years ago... if it were done, then it would simply have come in the form of a patch. I'm happy that they even bothered to do this for PC.... but I will check back on it when it's $5 bucks maybe.
Ah, then you're simply talking about distribution. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree then.
And as you said, if original owners don't want to pay the $14.99, there's always the Steam sales.
You are wrong, first off this is not an new car or new model if anything this is like buying a 2012 car in 2014 for the same price it was 2 years ago. This game is old and it has been out for awhile and there is nothing new added to the game at all. That makes the price value very low but these companys will still jack up the price because people will rebuy the same game they have all over again for no reason.
Such bad analogies. This is not an extended version of anything. Nothing new was added to the game, there is no new dlc or missions. This is like them chrging full price now for the original LORD movie which came out in 2001. Get better analogies please.
