Can't complete "Intensive Care" car chase - bugged?
I cannot complete the police chase part of the "Intensive Care" mission. I get out of the hospital, get put into a car, and have to escape the police. But after literally 2 seconds of driving, the police shoots out a tire, and I instantly die and fail the mission.

This seems to be tied to framerate somehow, as it doesn't happen as quickly when below 60 FPS.

How the hell am I supposed to get past this?

I've had that happen to me occasionally (just bad luck sometimes, I think), but never consistently. I know you'd lose some ground, but have you considered/tried just restarting the whole mission and seeing if that will resolve the problem?

After a few minutes of fiddling, I found out that limiting the FPS to 30 solves the problem. So just limit the FPS to 30 in the options, then set it back once you're done.

Still an aggravating bug, though nowhere near as aggravating as the endlessly spinning taxis that won't let you escape.

Sorry to necro, but I found a very simple solution in case anyone needs it, since I tried numerous times and failed. Driving straight, you will pass your apartment (building with number 41 above the door). Get off your car, get inside, enter your room. Bam, cops gone.

I'm glad you got it solved, but when I said "literally 2 seconds" I was not exaggerating.

Usually I made it to the highway before the cops destroyed my car. I was about to go search the forum for tips if the apartment trick didn't work.
