Distorted wavy lines on the screen
I just got a sweet gtx 1080 and now i'm having issues with this game. Whenever i look around or walk around i get these weird horizontal wavy lines all over the screen. I looked up ways to fix this issue but none have worked to fix this game. I've read that Ambient Occlusion set to high can cause the problem but in the control panel it says it this app doesn't support it. Other than that i don't know what to do in order to fix this issue. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

It's an issue with vsync. There are multiple entries on the steam forum about this issue. I'm in the same boat when it comes to this issue, but in general there are two ways to correct it, both work reasonably well for me.

1. turn on the fps counter in the steam overlay, for some inexplicable reason that works for some people
2. run the game in windowed mode, you can change this in the in game settings. You could also use a program such as "borderless gaming" to remove the window borders, which makes it look like your running the game in fullscreen.

However, there's another bug that occurs when you're running Windows 10 with an nVidia GPU. For me the shadow filtering is bugged, resulting in horizontal lines across the road which become apparant while moving. Apart from disabling shadows (which looks terrible) there's nothing you can do about it on Windows 10. Just fiddle with the in game brightness and your monitors settings untill it becomes tolerable.

The only issues i've had was the screen distortion however i havn't tried the fps counter yet. For some reason the steam overlay won't work in the game despite the steam overlay being enabled so i have no idea how i am going to turn on the fps counter.

right click the game in steam, go to properties, select Enable steam overlay for it, happen to me, certain individual game is disable, hence no overlay enable even global is ON, and yes the vsync issue is annoying.. but tenable fps counter solves it.. a bummer i know... but the dumb japanese SEnix aint bother to repair their broken game...

Yeah but the overlay is enabled on the game. Not just on global. I go into the game and the overlay won't work.
