Are there guns in this game?
Played this for hours and never saw a single gun, and now I'm starting to get a little sick of getting stuck repeating the same fights. I realize this isn't a shooter per se, but how much gun play can I expect?

The futher into the story you go, the more guns you get.
There's also an upgrade perk you can get to get a handgun regularly.

Guns aren't huge in asia (though the market is). It's explained in the story that guns are rare in hong kong, you don't see them much.

If you haven't saw a single gun yet, you're not that far. Upgrade to get the better moves and combat becomes more fun, use the envirnment too.

Guess I need to play more cop missions. I'd really just like a gat to kill the grapplers and dudes with knives just to speed up the play a little. There are certain enemies in leather jackets you can't fight unless you counter them. Boy, does that get old fast.

First of all there are DLCs with weapons to spawn in your room, you can buy one. I have one -but in my case its bugged and dont spawn at all (i dont remember the name of DLC it has cop car, swat uniform with tactical mask and supposed to have automatic rifle which i dont have, almost forgot to mention cop missions in a car).
Its sort of ♥♥♥♥ but you better play in certain manner to enjoy it most -like do all quests with the girl it will open locations on the map where to get jade figurines to learn new tricks in a fight. at the same time i do list of cloths - where to find them to have score-bonuses to cop miisions and triada missions). And you are good to go to kick ♥♥♥♥ out of bad guys. Unfortunately i'm not sure you can start NG+ with all skills - at least i was not able to.

guns are very common a few hours into the game once the triad tells you to kill someone

i thought DLCs give you more skills, no? Shame is that they are not active from the beginning. Any way find best clothes to gain more rep scores and look for the map of figurines. Agree that there is no variety in foes. But that's not tekken anyway.

Thats not true. You can't play this game for HOURS and not see any gun...

Yes it is.

If you only play main missions, and skip literally everything in the game, than you might make it to the one mission where they introduce firearms after two or three hours...and then you lose it immediately. But wandering around the map, exploring there are none laying around. I had to instigate a fight with a cop specifically to steal one from him. That was about 10 hours into the game.

I would agree if this wasn't the definitive edition. You can buy a few costumes that have guns. I finished a majority of the game Deus Ex style...

the fighting in this game for me never gets boring. its my second play through (played this on ps4 before). that being said, there are quite a number of gun fights in this game. just play the game and if its going too slow, try buying legendary outfit with increase melee damage.

and dont forget finding statues to deliver so you can learn new moves via sifu.

There are plenty of shootouts in the game once you get past the wedding. Pretty solid gunplay for a GTA clone, too. But the fistfights are really what make it unique.

And if you want to use guns even more often, just buy a couple of the DLC outfits in the Night Market. The Deus Ex one comes with an assault rifle, the Just Cause one with a pistol / grenade launcher.
