How to fight? Need help ?!

I have just started the game and i am already stuck, i am at the part called Kill Ming's thugs or something. Its were i first have to fight 4 or 5 guys and then the last one has a knife, Ming.
I know there are combos, but i don't get any further as clicking my left mouse button several times and sometimes i keep the left mouse button pressed in which seems to activate another combo. But that it is. I have watched video's on youtube and there the guy has no trouble killing the guy with the knife, but i loose every time and die.

Can someone please help me and tell me what to do, because otherwise this game ends before it really has started for me, which would be a shame.

You have to use counter attacks against Ming. When he flashes red, press 'E' (iirc) to do a counter and then hit him.

yeah wait for his attacks and counter! Use counter attacks often in general cause when u counter u can follow up a combo! Try click, click, hold xD so u do a light light hard combo

You lock on to the closest enemy by pressing right mouse button. When you get the defensive position and the character looking around, it means you have pressed 'E' at the wrong time, i.e. when there's nothing to counter.

Ha gaayyyyyy. For the ♥♥♥♥♥ way out, just press F and keep running around from the others and throw the guy that you're grapping into some red outline objects for instant kill

Sounds like the same fight that made me quit. I wish there was some way to simply bypass the melee fights, they ruined the game for me.

Well, im sorry dude, your best bet if you cant get passed the level would be to buy a 360 wired controller off amazon. Thats what I use and ive never had this problem

Just u have to counter attack and attack frequently...... Get used to them

Is there any way to re-key the E key? Counter attack is not listed in the settings and I use the arrow keys and number pad. That puts the E key so far away it makes the game not worth playing!

Games like this, Assassin's Creed, Arkham and so on were all made to be played with a controller. So buy a controller which is like 30 euros or something.

I would refund the game before using a POS controller! PC is too far above and beyond a game console to insult it by using a controller!

Then don't buy games that were made to be played with a controller. Play something like Endless Space or Pillars of Eternity. Those were made to be played with a mouse and keyboard.
